Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Tennessee.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Murfreesboro at the state tournament championships – but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Tennessee. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 25 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week and updating the Power 25 rankings.

2025 OUTLOOK

+ Union County comes into the spring 2025 season after compiling a 19-21 record the year prior. A bit of an up and down year but seemed to win games when they really needed it to a strong finish in Sub-State. They look strong this yar with a lot of returning players to go alongside 5 returning arms on the mound. Senior leader Ty Edds will lead this group yet again after an All-State selection last season. The LMU signee should be in the top of the lineup, while also manning centerfield. Senior first baseman Jake Ryder had a great season a year ago and is a 3 year starter coming off an All-District nomination. Junior shortstop/RHP Brady Stinnett will be the ace of the staff that comes in with a strong arm, while also having superb defence. Junior catcher Aiden Skiles is the Patriots returning catcher with a solid bat in an athletic profile. Sophomore Aiden Bowman will stick at 2nd base and fill in at shortstop when needed. Solid glove up the middle that plays with some baseball IQ. Junior Daniel Bailey will be a utility type of player this spring that played a little bit last season. Junior Maddix Wyrick will be a big bat in the lineup that the club is relying on for power production, while also contributing on the mound this season. Junior Brandon Reed is another strong bat that has an opportunity to be really good this spring on the mound. Another Junior that will be sold is Paxton Barnes. He was the most improved player last season and will contribute in the outfield and especially on the mound. The club also have a strong freshman in Samual Johnson. He should contribute right away and brings some athleticism to the diamond. Competing in a strong District 4 is always tough but look for the Patriots to get back to the postseason. Some other teams in their area look equally as strong again but this could be the year that Union County makes it back to state.
