Tennessee Preseason All-State Underclass: Quick Hits - Position Players

Hunter Martin
Tennessee Scouting Director

GALLATIN, TN - The Prep Baseball Tennessee Preseason All-State: Underclass was held on Saturday, February 8th at Liberty Creek HS. Players went through an extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman, ran the 60-yard dash using Vald Performance, and much more. Pitchers were able to get numbers and metrics on TrackMan during a bullpen setting. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing at the event.

Continuing our post-event coverage for the event, we take a look at the some of the standouts from the event. Please be sure to continue to check back as we release other leaderboards from the event, along with the scouting reports on all players in attendance.

QUICK HITS: POSITION PLAYERS

Jayden Pearl: The Battle Ground product continues to get more physical as he came into Preseason All-State at 213 pounds in the 5-11 frame. The sophomore has one of the better all-around performances at the Prep Baseball Future Games this past summer and looks in line to continue that trend heading into the spring season. The speed continues to be there in the 6.8 range, as well as the strength with a whopping 77 mph avg bat speed. He would finish his BP round with a 106 EV on a ball hit at a distance of 395 ft. The arm strength has continued to climb as it came in at 86 mph. Pearl is setting himself to one of the top players in the 2027 class across the country.

Stephen Bobo: Bobo excelled on the gridiron this fall, which prevented us from getting many looks at him. He came into PAS with some added physicality at 5-11 and 172 pounds with an athletic profile that will surely be able to pack on muscle. Speed and athleticism oozes throughout with Bobo where he clocked a 6.62 sixty. Shows increasing power potential at the plate with a 95 mph max EV from a line-drive approach. Arm strength is currently present where he came in at 90,91,90,90 and 92 from the outfield. Offers some upside on the mound as well where he brings an overall intriguing player profile.

Will Brick: Brick comes in as one of the top catching prospects in the country. Defensively, he brings an aura of athleticism to the position where he has crisp actions with one of the quickest transfers from glove to hand. Present bat speed (72.5 mph avg) and feel for the barrel led to an impressive round of BP that featured a max EV of 103 mph.  A well-leveraged path carried balls deep into both gaps with consistent 350 ft line-drives. Posted the best pop of the event at 1.83 with 80 mph on throwdowns. Really impressive all-around performance from the sophomore.

KJ Anderson: Anderson was selected to attend the Future Games last season as a freshman coming off a really strong summer campaign with Canes National. Weighing in at 190 pounds in the 5-11 frame offers future projection, where he also offers versatility aside from offering an above-average glove behind the plate with consistent 2.01-2.06 pop-times to go with a mid 70’s arm behind the plate. Not necessarily known for being a speedster, but Anderson does carry himself with present speed for the size and frame at 7.1 in the sixty. Real strength in the 5-foot-11 frame that shows up frequently at the plate. Drove balls with some carry back up the middle and into the gaps well that maxed out at 98 EV with 93.5 mph avg EV.

William Weber: The former Junior Future Game participant may have had one of the better all-around performances at PAS. This was our first extended look at Weber since the summer of 2023, where he came away being one of the best players that we had on the Junior Future Game team belting 4 HR’s over the week span. The catching prospect continues to fill out and looks every bit of the part at 6 foot 4 and 223 pounds. Line-drive heavy approach barreling up baseballs consistently up the middle of his BP round. Leaving with an impressive 101 mph max EV with an absurd EV average of 95.3. Not only can he hit from the right-side but offers long-term projection at the catching position where he tied for event best clocking a 1.83 pop-time with an absolute cannon from home plate at 84 mph. Proving it over and over, Weber stock continues to climb.

Gaven French: The 2-way prospect was another Junior Future Games participant that we have followed closely over the last two years. He has grown in size where he came in at 6 foot 1 and just north of 170 pounds. 7.2 runner in the sixty but plays way faster defensively with clean footwork and a quick first step. Works well through the baseball, while already having above average arm strength at 92 mph across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to show solid feel for the barrel with a quick and repeatable bat path. Showed well with a max EV of 96 mph and current number 8 prospect in the 2027 class of Tennessee.

Braydin Jones: Another 2-way prospect that we have been following closely over the last year after getting our first look at him at the Knoxville Preseason ID in 2024. Jones has continued to trend upwards with the frame where he measured in at 6 foot 2 and 181 pounds. Another guy that isn’t a burner with 7.3 speed in the sixty but plays much faster than his straight line speed suggest. Came away with a 96 mph max EV with a repeatable swing. Should start again at short for USJ where he excelled last season as a freshman. Clean actions defensively with hands that have a feel for receiving the ball. Another guy with advanced arm strength where he clocked 90 mph across the infield. Current number 10 prospect in the 2027 class of Tennessee.

Seth Hooks: The theme is a lot of former Junior Future Games participants that showcased Saturday at PAS and one name that we have had circled was Hooks. Hooks doesn’t necessarily wow you in a showcase setting but he is a guy that you just have to see play in person. Hooks has grown substantially since the summer of 2023 coming in at 6 foot and 200 pounds. The lower half continues to develop very nicely and looks like he has added substantial strength in the profile. Posted a 73% SweetSpot percentage with a line-drive/fly-ball approach with a max EV of 98 mph, while finishing with a 90 mph average EV. Also has developing arm strength where he showed 85 mph from the outfield for one of the top all-around prospects in the 2027 class of TN.

Caleb Carpenter: Carpenter has been someone on our radar for over two years now. He was a freshman starter for Independence high school last season where he came in as their number two on the mound, while also batting in the top half of the lineup order. Carpenter has a stellar summer for Knights National and continues his upwards trajectory. Coming in at 6 foot 1 and 187 pounds, Carpenter has put on really good weight over the last year which led to some really strong metrics in BP. Finishing with an impressive 93.7 mph average EV for his round, while also maxing out at 100 mph off the barrel. There is clearly some present power in the bat, but also present athleticism clocking a 6.87 in the sixty. Another prospect that offers two-way projection with above average arm strength clocking 87 mph from the outfield. Carpenter is someone that we are really high on and is projecting out right on pace.

Harris Fisher: The Lipscomb Academy product didn’t see much varsity playing time last season as a freshman but looks in line to be in the middle part of the lineup for a rejuvenated high school team that kind of let their season get away from them last year. Fisher will be a big part of the Mustang plans this season. Measuring in at 6 foot 1 and a half and 209 pounds, Fisher looks like he will add substantial weight over the next couple of years in high school but is trending the right direction with the frame currently. Shows some present barrel awareness with a 101 mph max EV, while also finishing his round with over 90 mph average. The prospect looks like he can play the hot corner, but also offers versatility around the diamond. Fisher continues to look better each time we see him.

Rylan Jessee: The Baylor product didn’t get much varsity action last season as a freshman playing for one of the most talented high school teams in the state where positions are usually filled by more experienced, upperclass players. That will change this year as Jessee looks to be a shoe-in for immediate starting time as you can’t keep the bat out of the lineup. Coming in at 5 foot 11 and 212 pounds, Jesse has added significant weight over the last year. Although he packs on weight in the current profile, Jessee also shows athleticism with a 7.03 sixty showing that he can play both the outfield and infield. The bat speed is currently there (74 mph avg) while also showing some juice in the body with 32 G’s of rotational acceleration (force) via Blast. He should be able to see pitches deeper than most with that quick of force being produced as he gets his swing off. He would come away with a 100 mph max EV with nothing but line-drives and flyballs. Graded well on the Vizual Edge test with an 80.9 score which projects as he sees higher pitching velocities.

Parker Free: The Oak Ridge product was a major contributor last season as his team made a 4A state tournament run. Free continues to get better each time we see him and the catching prospect posted his best pop-time with a 1.94, while also showing developing arm strength in the mid 70’s. At 5 foot 9 and 187 pounds, Free continues to add solid weight to the profile, while also showcasing speed with a 6.9 sixty, which translates to defensive versatility. Finishing with a 98 mph max EV, while averaging out to 93.2 mph. The swing has present length through the zone that should continue to generate easy loft.

Joshua Duggin: The Siegel product comes into the 2025 season off of a successful summer campaign and looks in line to start this season for a team that fell just short of making the state tournament a season ago. At 6 foot 1 and 200 pounds, Duggin has present size and should actually slim down while gaining weight as he matures. 30 G’s of rotational acceleration is always a great thing, as this allows him to handle higher velocity with a later swing decision. Capped off his round with sprayed balls all over the field in an easy all-fields approach that bodes well towards the hit tool ceiling. 102 max EV, while staying consistently over 90 mph on average for his BP round. Defense is coming together and projects for a corner infield spot.

Preston Sumner: The Collierville product was someone that we have liked over the last two seasons seeing him back at the University of Tennessee for the TN Top-Prospect Games in 2023. Measuring in at 6 foot and 171 pounds, Sumner has gained significant weight, while also showing that there is still so much more to fill out. He will need to get faster if he wants to stick in the middle at the varsity level and beyond. However, shows present feel for the glove in the infield, with 86 mph across the infield, which is ahead of a lot of his peers currently. The left-handed stick shows some compact ability with easy pull-side pop. Posted his hardest hit ball at 98 mph with a 351 foot shot to right-center that finished with 58 % line-drive rate for his BP round. Should see varsity innings this season for a loaded Collierville high school that has the talent to hold the 4A trophy at the end of the high school season.

Aiden Britton: The Summit sophomore has grown a lot since we saw him last measuring in at 6 foot 1 and 171 pounds. With the extra weight, Britton produced some force into the bat by creating some early separation with a well-leveraged barrel through the zone-decent carry to the pull-side with budding impact. Max EV of 97 mph. Shows quality hands defensively, will need to continue to work on his quickness but shows right actions with the glove with advanced arm strength (89 mph) across the diamond. Should be a major factor for his high school team in the top-half of the order.

Treason Derry: The lefty-handed hitter is another guy that shows 2-way potential. The bat tool shows some projection currently with an easy pull-side loft while also producing force through the zone on impact. Currently listed at 5 foot 9 and 185 pounds, Derry should continue to add height as he matures. A middle child in a baseball heavy family with talented brothers around him shows the makeup that he plays with. Max EV of 94 mph with a max distance of 348 to right-center field. Shows a well-controlled barrel through impact with a group best 83% Sweet Spot percentage for his BP round. 84 mph from the infield shows the arm strength, while also having quality footwork at 1st base, which equates to him playing with confidence at the corner.

Carter Hullett: The Ensworth product continues to fill out and comes in with a stocky compact frame at 5 foot 10 and 208 pounds with present muscle strength where he showed the strongest grip strength of 175.4 pounds. He would also walk away with the 2nd highest bat speed average (76.2) of the underclass group. Hullett is another guy in the deep 2027 class that shows 2-way potential as you can’t really say for certain where he will fall at the next level. Produced loud barrels with a max EV of 100 mph with an average just north of 94 mph for his BP round. 1.88-1.90 pop times with above average arm strength on throw downs at 78-80 mph. Plays a competitive schedule in the summer and will be a big part of Ensworth yet again this spring. Another guy to know about in the deep 2027 catching class of TN.

Aiden Urdiales: Uridiales gave my staff and I our very first look at PAS just moving in from Texas, and he initially caught our attention in the defensive portion with the middle infielders. He may have had the best overall hands and plays with an aura of swagger at shortstop. Lengthy profile at 5 foot 11 and 192 pounds that looks taller and will certainly continue to grow. 7.6 runner may keep him from shortstop longterm and will have to work to get faster but shows great footwork and may be suitable for 3rd base longterm. The bat is still a work in progress as he showed some inconsistency with barrel connection, however when he did connect, it caught our attention where he would finish with a max EV of 93 mph with more in the tank currently. He is someone that we will follow this spring out of Westcreek to get another look at during high school ball.

Jay Insani: Insani got on our radar last winter at PAS where he was a standout at the catching position. He transfers into Riverdale this spring and they immediately will reap the benefits of his service where he looks to be an everyday player offering versatility in the field with 2-way potential. Coming in at 6 foot 2 and 188 pounds, Insani packs a punch in a slim frame that looks likely to hold more weight in the future. Max EV of 97 with low line-drive shots. 80 mph throwdowns with a low 2.02-2.03 poptimes. Should platoon catching this spring with a talented senior.

Berrin Zenner: The Franklin Road Academy catcher is someone that we have not seen previously and had a standout performance that definitely caught our attention. The left-handed stroke offers smoothness through the zone with easy triggering components. At 5 foot 11 and 195 pounds, Zenner comes with present physicality, while also showcasing athleticism with a sub 7 sixty. One of the group best with 31 G’s of rotational acceleration with a loud round of BP topping out at 101 mph with an average of 94 mph for his round. Present arm strength at 75 mph with developing actions defensively.

Cruz Jones: The sophomore from Grace Christian Academy is long at 6 foot 1 with some length still to come as he matures. The 1st baseman showed some present pop in the barrel with a max 94 mph EV. Up the middle approach, and showed feel for letting the ball get deep with late launch.

Ezra Buchanan: Buchanan recently reclassified this past year and comes into the 2027 class. The Knights Academy is homeschooled but plays for a competitive spring team that travels all across the country to compete against quality teams. 7.1 speed at 5 foot 11 and 192 pounds. Showed some power output with a max 95 mph EV with his furthest ball traveling 343 feet. Shows good footwork with easy transfers across the diamond. Already showcases present arm speed with 89 mph across the diamond on some dart throws to first.

Robert Armes: The Bartlett native is another guy that we have followed for two years now and he continues to fill out, while becoming more athletic. Started last season as a freshman for a young team that look poised to compete in one of the strongest districts in all the state. Already showing signs of physicality at 6 foot 2 and 202 pounds. 7.3 runner which indicates he isn’t a burner but has continued to gain in speed from the last few times that we have seen him. The power profile shows projection maxing out at 97 mph for his round and finishing just shy of 90 mph in average total. Smooth actions defensively with confidence in the glovework. May be suited long term for a corner spot with present arm strength in the mid 80’s.

Ben Gant: Gant gave us our first look and we came away impressed with the overall makeup. 7 flat runner but more speed is present in the tank. Really impressive round firing line–drives into both gaps and significant power to project (97 mph max, 91.7 mph avg). Top-3 in overall Vizual Edge score translation to him seeing spin out of hand reaction speed. Arm strength is developing (82 IF Velo) with rangy lateral actions that point to the sophomore to stick up the middle longterm.

Brayden Holland: Holland attended this fall and was a major standout at the catching position with 1.8’s-1.90 poptimes behind home plate clocking in at 82 mph. He has since raised that bar even higher with 85 from behind the dish, a major outlier at that position. Had one of the more impressive days overall projecting for more in multiple facets. At the plate, he continues his upward trend where he shows great balance at the plate. Present bat speed throughout his round with some heaviness in the barrel that generated quality exit velocities (Max 98) while carrying balls to the pull-side with minimal effort. He would finish just north of 90 mph for consistent hard contact while still not heavily hitting the sweet-spot on the barrel. Looks in line to start for the defending state championship team.

Fisher Green: The number 2 overall prospect in the 2028 class of TN had another phenomenal showing at PAS. The moment doesn’t ever seem too big for Fisher who plays with a sureness of confidence and swagger. Level headed with ability in the field, at the plate and on the mound. At 5 foot 10 and 160ish pounds, Green looks like he hasn’t even started growing yet but already offers advanced actions and athleticism. 7.1 speed but plays faster and will be sub-7 here pretty soon. Smooth with the glove to stick up the middle going forward. Will look to start at SS this spring as a freshman and a top of the lineup hitter with leverage in the barrel. Showcased pop to the pull side with a 97 EV max while averaging out just shy of 90 mph for his total round. High upside talent with 89 mph across the infield. Suitors will be after him in a few years with true two-way projection.

Hudson Burnett: The speedy outfielder offers centerfield upside clocking in at 6.8 for the sixty. Was a member of the Junior Future Games this past summer and struggled a little bit but was probably good for his overall development as he gets into his high school career. Burnett brings a ton of athleticism and twitch in the profile coming in at a lean 5-10, 165 pounds that shows plenty of projection remaining. Creates good separation at the plate with accuracy in a direct path that creates loft at contact. Presents easy and repeatable impact in the barrel with an average EV of 93.1  (Max 99) and much more to project down the line. Burnett also showed solid arm strength from the outfield, grabbing 83 with carry. Coming in at number 3 overall in the state of Tennessee for the 2028, its not often a high school is getting two of the top 3 freshman entering high school and will set up Halls for years to come as him and Fisher Green will make an instant impact for Halls.

Joseph Mosley: Mosley gave us our first look at the projectable outfielder that comes in with a wiry frame that has present twitch in the profile, but will continue to grow into much more as he matures. The makeup is way ahead of time coming in at 6 foot and 165 pounds with already present athletic ability (7.03 sixty) and bat speed (73.3 avg). Was 82% on line drives for his round with hard contact consistently up the middle. Current power in the barrel (95 mph max) while being one of the top hitters for the event in sweet spot percentage at 82% finishing with over 90 mph on average. Already shows present arm strength (87mph) from the outfield that will make an immediate impact for Hendersonville this season. Mosely comes in currently ranked inside the teens but looks to surely rise as his high school career gets underway.

Carson Haney: The Junior Future Game times two alum is a staff favorite and gamer on the field. On the smaller side comparably with his peers in the 2028 class but has a lot more room to grow into as he matures. The Lincoln County freshman looks like he will make an immediate impact for the club this year offering projection up the middle. Produces a direct barrel path with a quietness in the swing that produces surprisingly loud barrels (94 mph max EV) finishing with an 84.4 overall average for his round.

McClain Ridler: Ridler was a prospect we probably misused this summer during the Junior Future Games as we should have used him more on the mound where he has insane upside. He also offers present upside from the left-side at the plate where he combines twitch in the profile that produced heavy barrels in the 6-1, 165 pound frame. McClain generates easy loft from a direct path with quickness in the hands. He would max out at 93 mph to pullside, while also showing the ability to stay on plane to deliver baseballs up the middle and away. He would also walk away with a 354 deep shot to right-center field on his furthest batted ball. Ridler looks in line to be the starting centerfielder this season for a hungry Summit team that already shows advanced arm strength at 88 mph from the outfield.

Ryan Newell: The Nolensville product will firmly step into the starting centerfielder role for the 4A state runner up, while also showing that he will most likely take over the leadoff spot. Newell currently is on the smaller size at 165 pounds but also is on the younger side in the sophomore class where he won’t be 16 until April. He has plenty of room to fill out with high projection in the profile. Regardless, he packs a punch with an astonishing 100 mph EV on a 351 foot shot to right field. He would finish right at 90 mph on average for his total overall round. Newell shows much more to project down the line as he matures while also showing solid arm strength from the outfield, grabbing 83 with carry.

Tristen Lithmexay: Another Nolensville HS product that will be hard-pressed to grab the starting 2nd base job this spring for the returning 4A runner-ups. Lithmexay comes in at 5-11 and just shy of 170 pounds. Right at 7 flat speed with more to come. Direct bat path with a knob led approach transferred into easy power output (98 EV max) with multiple hit balls over 300 feet. Shows present arm strength at 84 mph and should get a lot of opportunities this spring to be a guy the Knights rely on.

Garrett Stephens: Stephens is a guy that had a solid performance at Prep Baseball Junior Future Games two summers ago and is giving us our first look at him since his freshman fall. He comes in noticeably thicker at 152 pounds and has grown tremendously since we saw him last measuring in at 5-9. The barrel manipulation through the zone was on full display where he sprayed balls to all fields and left a lasting impression on the staff for his day during his BP. Mostly stayed through line-drives with a low liner/ground ball approach but walked away with a 94 mph max EV on an impressive 358 max distance, while averaging over 90 mph for his round. His speed should continue to tick up clocking in at a 7 flat and I wouldn’t be surprised if he got into the 6.8 range at some point in his HS career. Craving the lineup for a loaded Collierville team who may be the most talented 4A school in the state will be hard as a sophomore this year but I wouldn’t be surprised if Coach Munier gives him some opportunities throughout the season.

Drew Wagner: Wagner was someone that we became aware of this summer playing for a loaded WowFactor team that was consistently one of the stronger travel teams throughout the summer. The Lipscomb Academy freshman had one of the more standout all-around days where he showed himself apart in multiple categories. Already showing some physicality at 6-1 and 185 pounds, Wagner already has present strength with plenty of continued projection left in the frame. 73.7 avg bat speed was top for the 2028 class prospects in attendance, while also being tied for the group best with 25 mph on peak hand speed for his swing. Wagner was also second in the entire group with the furthest traveled hit ball at 370 via Trackman. The swing creates a direct path that has lag through the zone with a through finish through the zone that maxed out at 95 mph, with an average EV of 91.1. The actions scream middle infield long-term while also showing he has the arm strength to make all the necessary throws (83 mph) across the diamond. Wagner should be an immediate day 1 starter for a reloaded Lipscomb Academy team.

Jack Rhodes: The Lipscomb Academy freshman has made big strides since we saw him last and raised all of his metrics in every category. The frame carries present length at 6-3, and should be able to hold significantly more weight as he matures. Had a lot of really solid connections from a linear direct barrel path that stayed compact inside the baseball through finish. He would go on to post some really strong numbers which included a max EV 96 mph, while averaging out at 91.4. There is plenty of projection left to be remained as he matures and will be another guy that could push for playing time sparingly this season.

Grady Callaway: The Former Junior Future Gamar participant reclassified to the 2028 class before his freshman season, thus comes in with some physicality for being a freshman at 6 foot 2 and 181 pounds. The Davidson Academy product looks to be a day 1 varsity starter as you can’t get the bat out of the lineup. He comes in with present power production with more to dream on as he matures in his high school career. The Bat-to-ball skills have always been strong but now there's some additional strength developing that's allowing the uncommitted backstop to drive balls on a line to the pull-side. Max EV 99 mph, with an average of 93.5 mph, while also being in the top 3 overall for batted distance at 381 ft. The receiving will need to continue to develop but a catcher that can bang from the right side will always garner attention.

Champ Banks: Banks is gifted physically currently coming in at 6 foot 1 and 187 pounds but you can tell there is still so much more in the body that he hasn’t even grown into yet. Actually showed really good feet and clocked right at a 7 flat. Currently listed as a first baseman but I think offers more upside in the outfield with present arm strength in the low 80’s that will surely continue to climb. At the plate, he starts with a wider crotch and really gets into his lower half. Clean swing mechanics that work though the baseball well on contact. Produced some loud barrels in tune to a 97 max EV, while averaging at 92 mph for his total round. There is already current power in the profile with plenty more to come as he fills out and matures into the frame. We are high on Banks getting our first look at him and should step right in this season for Coach Maxwell at Ensworth. This will be a guy that is due for an uptick in his ranking and someone that we will follow heavily over the next 4 years.

Chase Gockenbach: Gockenbach was a former Junior Future Game alum two summers ago where he was on the bigger side for his age and has since grown into that body, while also slimming down. There is some steepness in the barrel that has present compactness through the zone that should allow for easy loft as he embarks on his high school career. He definitely came in looking a lot more athletic and profiles as a corner infield spot. Heavy groundball approach for his round but hard contact at that to 99 max EV, while finishing just shy of 92 mph on average for his total BP round. The upside is there and if he can continue growing into the frame, while also getting more athletic as he matures, he will be someone that gets a lot of looks his way as he can flat out hit.

Nate Simmons: The theme here is we had a lot of former Junior Future Game participants in attendance at Saturday’s PAS and Simmons was another two-time Junior Future Game participant. The first baseman continues to build in stature coming in at 6-1 and 220 pounds. I do want to see him work on his speed and footwork as he matures as that could be something that separates him down the line in his high school career and when it comes to getting recruited. The bat path comes in with a direct on plane angle with a strong finish around his body. That swing should continue to shorten up as he faces more velocity. All in all however, Simmons demonstrated the power potential with a 97 mph EV at 343 ft, all best for Trackman metrics that we have gotten him on.

Max Misenhimer: Misenhimer was a Junior Future Game participant this past summer and someone that offers versatility in the field where he can catch and play infield. The well-rounded profile that Misenhimer offers will be vital for Grace Christian Academy (Knoxville) as they continue to stockpile young talent. There is real strength in the 5-foot-11 frame that shows up frequently at the plate. Drove balls with some carry back up the middle and into the gaps well. Max EV 94. Defensively, Misenhimer offers some versatility aside from offering an above-average glove behind the plate. Consistent 2.07  pops with developing arm strength from the crotch position at 74 mph.. 88 from the hot corner as well with some good footwork and flexibility showing.

Kannon Derry: The 8th grade prospect was one of 3 guys to compete at PAS joining the high school ranks for the day. Derry is the youngest of three boys, who are all talented around the diamond, while Derry may have the highest upside of them all. Derry will be a varsity starter this season defensively and on the mound for his high school Grace Christian Academy (Knoxville) and will look every bit of the part. The frame is wiry with plenty more development left to be had but already shows present juice in the barrel and in the arm. At 6 feet already, he should continue to grow over the next few years and is well ahead of his peers. Showcased a 93 mph max EV on a 350 foot shot to right-center, while also showing the ability to turn on the ball to pull side. The arm strength is already clearly present with mid 80’s from the outfield (87 mph max) that should help me have considerable opportunities to 2-way going into his college years. The upside is extremely high on Derry as he had one of the best all-around days out of every prospect in attendance and clearly got our attention.
