West Tennessee Fall ID: Infielder Reports

Prep Baseball Tennessee Staff

JACKSON, TN - The Prep Baseball West Tennessee Fall ID was held on Sunday, November 10th at Union University in Jackson, TN. Players went through an extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman, ran the 60-yard dash using Swift Performance, and much more. Pitchers were able to get numbers and metrics on TrackMan during simulated innings. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing at the event.

Continuing our post-event coverage for the event, we take a look the scouting reports on all infielders from the West Tennessee Fall ID. Continue to check back as we release other scouting reports from the event.

Hit: RHH. Open stance with his back hip activated pre pitch, bigger, but controlled leg kick back to even prior to launch. Will occasionally land on a toe tap to give himself time. Serious gap-to-gap potential with quick hands, lived right back up the middle with consistent barrels. 68.4 mph bat speed with 11g of rotational acceleration.
Power: mph max exit velocity ( avg.); -foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH.INF - 91.00 mph. Plus arm presently, shown a massive jump since earlier this year. M2C
Defense: Profiles to stick on the left side going forward, creates timing through the ball with his hips and footwork.

Vizual Edge
: 65.9 Edge Score.

Brayden Holland, Briarcrest Christian (TN), 2027
Positional Profile: C/3B
Body: 6-0, 175 pounds. Twitchy athletic frame that is uber projectable.
Hit: RHH. Tall stance with knees slightly bent, hands relaxed towards the back of the body. A small weight shift rearward precedes a small stride forward. He does a good job resisting the forward with the hands with good separation. Sprays solid contact to all fields with his hardest hit balls on the pullside, can be quick through the zone due to iffy timing at times. 67.1 mph bat speed with 12g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 91 mph max exit velocity (81.7 avg.); 303-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. C - 83.00 mph. INF - 86.00 mph. Catcher-ish arm action with whip through the throwing motion. Comes through with a lower 3/4 slot.
Defense: Good actions in the infield, moves well to both sides with great mechanics. Works from a 1 knee down, very smooth motion and transition into the throw to second.
Athletic Testing: 7.28 runner in the 60-yard dash; -inch max vertical jump.
Vizual Edge
: 77.32 Edge Score.

Tommy Baker, South Gibson (TN), 2026
Positional Profile: OF/2B
Body: 6-1, 180 pounds. Very athletic build with long upper limbs, high ceiling physically with added size.
Hit: LHH. Starts with a slightly open stance, hands resting above his shoulder. Uses a small hover load that pushes his hands back into a loaded position. Lands in a good launch position with little separation between upper/lower halves. Works with a slightly upward bat path, looking to punish the ball to the pullside but shows the ability to drive the ball to the whole field. 69.9 mph bat speed with 17g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 96 mph max exit velocity (90.8 avg.); 341-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH.INF - 85.00 mph. OF - 86.00 mph. Short swing behind him to a long high 3/4 arm slot in the OF w/ room for more. Shows a quicker release in the INF.
Defense: Smooth, controlled footwork in the OF with an aggressive gain of momentum forward. In the INF works with a high level of confidence to either side with natural actions.
Athletic Testing: 7.29 runner in the 60-yard dash; -inch max vertical jump.
Vizual Edge
: 63.51 Edge Score.

Grey Buchanan, Peabody (TN), 2027
Positional Profile: OF/LHP
Body: 5-8, 135 pounds. Compact and very lean look at present, needs further physical development.
Hit: LHH. Gets extended into his legs with his base, while staying slightly closed with his front side. A small turn inward with his front foot starts the swing turns into a front heel plant in a good position as the swing goes through the zone. Has a good path through the zone, and works towards the middle of the cage. Struggles with timing and strength though the zone, both will come with time. 60.8 mph bat speed with 14g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 84 mph max exit velocity (74.6 avg.); 204-foot max batted distance.
Arm: LH.INF - 71.00 mph. OF - 74.00 mph. Arm works well with a quick 3/4 arm action with accurate throws.
Defense: Clean footwork breakdown as he works into the fielding motion, will occasionally field off of wrong foot costing him time into the throw.
Athletic Testing: 7.41 runner in the 60-yard dash; -inch max vertical jump.
Vizual Edge
: 71.2 Edge Score.

Lanston Kent, Saltillo (MS), 2028
Positional Profile: SS/RHP
Body: 5-10, 150 pounds. Natural athlete with quick twitch actions, present muscle and strength w/ room to grow.
Hit: RHH. Tall with his chest with a narrow stance and hands beginning at head level. A small stride forward sees his hands drop into a launch position before the swing launches at footplant. Showed a middle of the field approach with his best hit balls going in that direction. Has the ability to drive the ball the other way, which will improve as he gets stronger. 59.3 mph bat speed with 6g of rotational acceleration.
Power: mph max exit velocity ( avg.); -foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH.INF - 85.00 mph. His arm is quick through the motion with some variation in slot. Above average strength for age should continue to develop.
Defense: Developing feel in the INF, moves well to either side with early confidence in his glove.
Athletic Testing: 7.70 runner in the 60-yard dash; -inch max vertical jump.
Vizual Edge
: 64.76 Edge Score.

Positional Profile: C/SS
Body: 5-9, 140 pounds. Athletic look with a still developing frame, plus mover in his motions.
Hit: RHH. Shoulder width stance with feet slightly open, hands relaxed towards the middle of the body. Rocks to get the back side loaded and a small forward move. On some swings appears to rush through his load, forcing him to be overly quick through the zone. Works towards the middle of the field with well hit low line drives and ground balls. 60.2 mph bat speed with 14g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 84 mph max exit velocity (71.1 avg.); 241-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. C - 71.00 mph. INF - 80.00 mph. Very quick arm action from a short 3/4 slot, whippy through the motion with much more coming as he grows.
Defense: Quick movements to either side, gains great ground as he comes through the ball. Developing confidence w/ glove will come with reps. Behind the dish shows a very quick transfer with great motions to second, very good poptime that will only get lower as arm develops.
Athletic Testing: 7.22 runner in the 60-yard dash; -inch max vertical jump.
Vizual Edge
: 52.9 Edge Score.

Makhi Wooldridge, Dyersburg (TN), 2026
Positional Profile: SS/OF
Body: 5-9, 140 pounds. Medium, athletic frame with lots of room to grow and develop further.
Hit: RHH. Features a shoulder width stance with his feet slightly open. Uses a toe tap back to even with a small load of the backside. Hands and backside go at the same time as the swing launches. Works primarily the other way with solid contact, with a tendency to drop the barrel and slice weak contact. Hard line drive when he remains on plane. 56.8 mph bat speed with 9g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 82 mph max exit velocity (69.3 avg.); 192-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH.INF - 75.00 mph. OF - 76.00 mph. Accurate throws out of a 3/4 arm slot, has more arm strength and speed in the tank.
Defense: In the OF, controlled footwork through the ball aggressively at times. In the INF shows choppy footwork, with difficulty carrying momentum through the ball.
