JACKSON, TN - The Prep Baseball West Tennessee Fall ID was held on Sunday, November 10th at Union University in Jackson, TN. Players went through an extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman, ran the 60-yard dash using Swift Performance, and much more. Pitchers were able to get numbers and metrics on TrackMan during simulated innings. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing at the event.

OUTFIELDER REPORTS

Harrison McClain, University School of Jackson (TN), 2027
Positional Profile: OF/OF
Body: 5-11, 190 pounds. Present strength throughout with a broad shoulders, athletic mover.
Hit: RHH. Stands way up on the plate with an athletic stance with knees slightly bent. There is a small sway forward in his hips prior to loading into his back side. Has a small lift of the front foot with the swing launching before the heel gets down. Rotates well as he works up the middle and to the opposite field. Great path through the zone has much more EV in the tank with more separation and proper sequencing. 65.7 mph bat speed with 23g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 87 mph max exit velocity (79.2 avg.); 269-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. OF - 73.00 mph. Developing feel for his arm action, very rigid at present.
Defense: Shows feel for moving to either side, with athletic movements through the fielding motion.
Athletic Testing: 7.11 runner in the 60-yard dash; -inch max vertical jump.

Tommy Baker, South Gibson (TN), 2026
Positional Profile: OF/2B
Body: 6-1, 180 pounds. Very athletic build with long upper limbs, high ceiling physically with added size.
Hit: LHH. Starts with a slightly open stance, hands resting above his shoulder. Uses a small hover load that pushes his hands back into a loaded position. Lands in a good launch position with little separation between upper/lower halves. Works with a slightly upward bat path, looking to punish the ball to the pullside but shows the ability to drive the ball to the whole field. 69.9 mph bat speed with 17g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 96 mph max exit velocity (90.8 avg.); 341-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH.INF - 85.00 mph. OF - 86.00 mph. Short swing behind him to a long high 3/4 arm slot in the OF w/ room for more. Shows a quicker release in the INF.
Defense: Smooth, controlled footwork in the OF with an aggressive gain of momentum forward. In the INF works with a high level of confidence to either side with natural actions.
Athletic Testing: 7.29 runner in the 60-yard dash; -inch max vertical jump.

Mason Woods, Marshall Academy (TN), 2027
Positional Profile: LHP/OF
Body: 6-4, 180 pounds. Prototypical long and lanky frame, uber projectable and raw athletically.
Hit: LHH. Tall in his stance with his hands held above his shoulder and elbow raised. Uses a hover & go with a forward move which causes the swing to launch. Hands and backside resist forward move well as body goes forward. Makes great use of his long levers, stays through the zone well with a middle of the field approach. Should make a jump in strength and size that will lead to harder hit balls. 66.6 mph bat speed with 6g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 89 mph max exit velocity (84 avg.); 279-foot max batted distance.
Arm: LH. OF - 86.00 mph. Great actions with some whip over the top, tons more in the tank.
Defense: Utilizes long strides with solid control, big crow hop into the throwing motion.
Athletic Testing: 7.12 runner in the 60-yard dash; -inch max vertical jump.

Grey Buchanan, Peabody (TN), 2027
Positional Profile: OF/LHP
Body: 5-8, 135 pounds. Compact and very lean look at present, needs further physical development.
Hit: LHH. Gets extended into his legs with his base, while staying slightly closed with his front side. A small turn inward with his front foot starts the swing turns into a front heel plant in a good position as the swing goes through the zone. Has a good path through the zone, and works towards the middle of the cage. Struggles with timing and strength though the zone, both will come with time. 60.8 mph bat speed with 14g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 84 mph max exit velocity (74.6 avg.); 204-foot max batted distance.
Arm: LH.INF - 71.00 mph. OF - 74.00 mph. Arm works well with a quick 3/4 arm action with accurate throws.
Defense: Clean footwork breakdown as he works into the fielding motion, will occasionally field off of wrong foot costing him time into the throw.
Athletic Testing: 7.41 runner in the 60-yard dash; -inch max vertical jump.

AJ Hastings, Jackson Christian (TN), 2025
Positional Profile: OF
Body: 5-8, 145 pounds. Compact look with broad shoulders, can add more size and strength.
Hit: RHH. Starts with a wide, slightly open stance with an athletic look to it. Strides back to center and sinks into his back hip as his hands move into a loaded position. Launches from a good position into a firm brace leg. Works gap to gap with a very solid path through the zone. Was all over the barrel and will add more strength as he develops . 66.4 mph bat speed with 9g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 88 mph max exit velocity (78.4 avg.); 277-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. OF - 82.00 mph. A quick arm action from a high 3/4 slot, more to come with size/strength,
Defense: Aggressive to the ball with great footwork and quick release as he comes through the fielding motion.
Athletic Testing: 6.72 runner in the 60-yard dash; -inch max vertical jump.

Brian King II, Bartlett (TN), 2026
Positional Profile: OF/1B
Body: 6-0, 165 pounds. On the leaner side presently with size in the shoulders, long limbed frame that will hold size well.
Hit: LHH. Stands in the back of the box with his feet slightly wider than shoulder length, weight favoring his back leg. A small rocking motion for timing as pre pitch into a small leg lift. A small load into his back leg into the leg lift, sees his upper body leak slightly into the swing. Has a quick path through the zone that leads to inconsistent contact, works to the middle of the field handling low pitch well. 65.3 mph bat speed with 11g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 85 mph max exit velocity (76.3 avg.); 298-foot max batted distance.
Arm: LH. OF - 77.00 mph. On target throws from a rigid arm action, more velo will come with cleaner actions.
Defense: Gets to balls with ease, great intent as he comes through the fielding motion. Can improve on footwork.
Athletic Testing: 6.91 runner in the 60-yard dash; -inch max vertical jump.

Makhi Wooldridge, Dyersburg (TN), 2026
Positional Profile: SS/OF
Body: 5-9, 140 pounds. Medium, athletic frame with lots of room to grow and develop further.
Hit: RHH. Features a shoulder width stance with his feet slightly open. Uses a toe tap back to even with a small load of the backside. Hands and backside go at the same time as the swing launches. Works primarily the other way with solid contact, with a tendency to drop the barrel and slice weak contact. Hard line drive when he remains on plane. 56.8 mph bat speed with 9g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 82 mph max exit velocity (69.3 avg.); 192-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH.INF - 75.00 mph. OF - 76.00 mph. Accurate throws out of a 3/4 arm slot, has more arm strength and speed in the tank.
Defense: In the OF, controlled footwork through the ball aggressive at times. In the INF shows choppy footwork, with difficulty carrying momentum through the ball.
Athletic Testing: 7.21 runner in the 60-yard dash; -inch max vertical jump.
