KC Classic Weekend Review

The KC Classic has come to an end for 2025, as 8 champions were crowned on Sunday, March 23rd. 89 games took place at the Creekside and Homefield Baseball Complexes, where we saw 49 teams compete at their best.

Here are this weeks Champions, and MVPs.

  • 9U D3- Building Champions 9U went 4-0 with a run differential of 52. My #KCClassicMVP: Mack Sacks.

  • 10U D1/D2- KC Heat went 4-0 with a run differential of 36. My #KCClassicMVP: Greyson Reynolds. 

  • 11U D2- BPC Reds went 4-0 with a run differential of 38. My #KCClassicMVP: Jameson Blackwood.

  • 12U D3- Building Champions Gryszowka went 4-0 with a run differential of 49. My #KCClassicMVP: Braden Smith.

  • 12U D1/D2- KC Reign went 4-0 with a run differential of 31. My #KCClassicMVP: Cruz Martinez.

  • 13U D3-KC Train went 3-1 with a run differential of 13. My #KCClassicMVP: Ian Thornton.

  • 14U D1-KC SOX Baseball went 4-0 with a run differential of 37. My #KCClassicMVP: Landon Box.

  • 14U D2-KC Prodigy Black went 4-1 with a run differential of 20. My #KCClassicMVP: Jesse Bail.

Aside from the MVPs, here are some players who stood out and need to be on your radar heading into the summer.

Riley McEvoy 3B / C / Spring Hill, KS / 2029

McEvoy was 8-11 (.727 Avg) 2 2B, 4 RBI, 12 Total bases. He had 3 multi hit games and in their third game had 2 triples. Solid hitter with a high ceiling. 

 

 

Brayden Williams C / RHP / Lee's Summit West, MO / 2029

Brayden was 5-9 (.555 Avg), 3 2B, 3 RBI, 8 Total Bases. Had a big championship game where he had two opposite field doubles. One of which hit about halfway up the rightfield fence showing some pop. 

 

 

LJ Tanney 3B / OF / Olathe North, KS / 2029

LJ went 5-7 (.714 Avg), 1 2b, 7 total bases. Tanney had 2 multi hit games and in their final game had 2 doubles. Tanney shows some versatility on defense as he has been in the infield and outfield so far for the Stars.

 

 

Landon Alderson 1B / LHP / Mill Valley High School, KS / 2029

Alderson went 1-3 (.333 Avg), 1 HR, 1 RBI and 4 Total Bases. One the mound he went 4.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 10 K.

 

 

 

Gideon DeMoss C / OF / FORT OSAGE HIGH, MO / 2029

DeMoss was 4-8 (.500 Avg) 1 3B, 5 RBI, 6 Total Bases.
