Team Summary
The Katy Tigers enter the 2022 season after a successful '21 season that saw them make it to the 3rd round of playoffs. This years bunch has a good blend of senior leadership and some talented newcomers that should put them in the mix for another deep run. Coach McPherson is relying on veteran leadership and a plethora of high end arms.
Senior LHP Brayden Powers (Murray St.) may not light up the radar gun, but knows how to pitch and get outs. After him, Junior righties Cole Kaase and Andrew Hilton are next. They both can get up into the low 90's. Junior RHP J.R. Ceyanes also brings experience and a fastball that can get into the upper 80's. Senior, Grant Thompson, was one of their key bullpen arms last year as well.
The Tigers will be led offensively by Seniors, Parker Kidwell (Odessa College), Ryan George (HBU), Jhonnatan Ferrebus, Judson Ceyanes, and Outfielder Dominic Melchor (Murray State) Juniors,Graham Laxton (HBU) and Brady Englett look to add depth to the lineup.
Katy High School is used to winning in all sports and this years squad has a chance to keep that going. Very well coached and well rounded team, and I expect we will see them making a deep run once playoffs come around.
