Team Summary
Coach Jesse Lopez and his China Spring Cougars look to return to the playoffs again after being District Champs in 2021 and advancing to the Regional Quarterfinals. Coach Lopez returns a large core group of players in 2022 and has confidence in his lineup, defense and depth overall but will be looking for a player to step in as team leader after graduating the team captain. Returning on the mound for the Cougars is 2022 RHP/SS Kolby Killough, who posted 98 K's last year in 58 1/3 IP. The Cougars also get back 2023 RHP/3B Alex Martinez, who posted 91 K's last year in 54 2/3 IP. If that wasn't enough, 2024 RHP/3B Cage McCloud (TCU Commit) transferred in for the 2022 season and will also be a big part of the rotation.
