2023 Team Preview: Frisco Raccoons

The 2023 high school baseball season is underway with practice having started and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Texas
Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the Austin at the State Tournament, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Texas. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and eventually releasing our preseason Top 30 teams in the state.

Team Outlook
The Frisco Raccoons enter this year hopeful to get to postseason play as they return a good core from last year and have experience in important positions.
Offensively, Coach Farra's squad is lead by Michael Catalano (OU Commit), who will anchor the infield for Frisco. He is also joined by Jr.'s Austin Gathright, Landon Karrh, Tom Mulkern and John Larkin. Frisco has a talented freshman class that is led by Jackson Voris, who is a good athlete and has showed well in PBR events. Also look out for Jayson Bustamante and Dominic Floyd.
On the mound, Frisco will be led by Catalano. He should sit in the upper 80's and creep into the 90's throughout the spring. Karr, Mulkern and Larkin all figure to pitch meaningful innings behind Catalano.
Frisco has some key pieces to make a run in their district, if the Freshmen are ready to help out this year, they could be a sneaky team in district 9-5A.
