Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Austin at the UIL State Tournament in June, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Texas. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 30 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week and updating the Power 30 rankings.

TEAM OUTLOOK

Coming off an 8-13 season that saw them finish as Bi-District Finalists, the Palmer Bulldogs enter the 2025 campaign under leadership of Head Coach TJ Barnes with a mix of experienced veterans and promising young talent. Building off their 2024 season, the Bulldogs aim to make a deeper postseason run by combining the contributions of their top returning players with the potential of new and younger additions to the roster.

Leading the charge will likely be LHP/1B Will Baxter (2025), whose two-way capabilities provide stability both on the mound and at the plate. Baxter’s leadership and consistency will be critical in anchoring the Bulldogs’ pitching staff. Utility players Landon Munoz (2025) and Eric Cisneros (2026) bring versatility and experience, while younger talents like AJ Cisneros (2027) and Matthew Martinez (2026) add further depth and flexibility to Palmer’s roster.

Complementing the experienced core is an influx of exciting newcomers who could make an immediate impact. Sophomore Peyton New is a notable two-way prospect who could add more versatility to both the lineup and pitching staff. Among the freshmen to watch are OF Sutton Maddox (2028) and CIF/RHP Cooper Stockton (2028), who could develop into key contributors as the spring progresses. With a solid balance of seasoned players and emerging talent, the Bulldogs are poised to contend for the postseason again in 2025.
