TEAM OUTLOOK
The Argyle Liberty Christian baseball program enters the 2025 season looking to build upon a stellar 2024 campaign that culminated in a 27-11-3 record and a trip to the State Final Four. Coach Billy Jordan’s 2025 group will lean on their depth and a lineup and pitching staff that is loaded with talent and experience. With a strong foundation of returning players and a deep bench, Liberty Christian is aiming for another deep playoff run, with aspirations of securing a state championship this spring.
Anchoring the roster are several standout returners, led by Hogan Nelson, a Dallas Baptist commit who was named First Team All-State and District MVP in 2024. Nelson’s two-way ability makes him a highly-versatile piece for Coach Jordan’s squad. OF/RHP Brady Janusek, an Oklahoma commit, adds power and more versatility to the lineup, earning Honorable Mention All-State honors last year. C/INF Caleb Ruiz, a North Central Texas commit, returns after an impressive 2024 season that saw him claim Second Team All-State and District Newcomer of the Year honors. Rounding out the core group are RHP Colton Zahorik (LeTourneau commit), 1B Tyler Little, and versatile INF Zach Drew, who bring both experience and skill to an already formidable squad. Sophomore OF Drake Hawpe, the reigning District Defensive Player of the Year, adds defensive stability and high potential in the outfield.
The Warriors also welcome a talented group of newcomers who are expected to make an immediate impact. Sophomore southpaw Ben Canfield and CIF/RHP Ryan Floyd (2027) provide depth on the mound and in the infield. Freshman phenom Matthew Heredia, a Prep Baseball Junior Future Games participant, is already generating excitement as a two-way player with a bright future. RHP Ben Brown adds further pitching depth to a staff rich in options. With a mix of seasoned veterans and young talent, Liberty Christian is well-positioned to capitalize on its strengths and contend for a state title in 2025.
