Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Austin at the UIL State Tournament in June, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Texas. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 30 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

TEAM OUTLOOK
Coming off an impressive 29-5 campaign in 2024 that ended with a run to the area round of the playoffs, Arlington Heights looks poised for another strong season under Head Coach Travis Rose. With a team built around pitching and team speed, the Yellow Jackets are primed to be contenders in district play and beyond again this spring. Anchored by an experienced core of top returning players, Arlington Heights will rely on their ability to manufacture runs and dominate on the mound to navigate a competitive schedule.
Key contributors returning from last year’s squad include C Caleb Eagar, a Midland JC commit who earned First Team All-State honors and was named the 2024 District Offensive Player of the Year. He should be a steady presence behind the plate and in the lineup for the Yellow Jackets in 2025. Versatile utility players Mitchell Carpenter (UT-Tyler) and Morgan Garrett (Cisco College), both First Team All-District selections, bring a combination of pitching depth and offensive firepower. OF/LHP Noah Castillo, who claimed the 2024 District Defensive Player of the Year award, will once again set the tone on defense for Arlington Heights. Rising junior Juan Soto, a 2024 Second Team All-District honoree, will look to be another solid piece within the team’s pitching staff this spring. Look for Scooter New, who was a first team all-district selection in 2024, to also contribute on both sides of the ball for the Yellow Jackets this spring as a UTL/RHP
Arlington Heights also welcomes new talent in OF Bryson Tenorio, who should make an immediate impact this season as an uncommitted senior. With depth across multiple positions and a well-rounded roster, the Yellow Jackets have the tools to not only repeat last year’s success but potentially push deeper into the postseason in 2025.
