Prep Baseball Texas Staff

The 2025 Texas high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Texas.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Austin at the UIL State Tournament in June, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Texas. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 30 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week and updating the Power 30 rankings.

TEAM OUTLOOK

The Frisco Centennial Titans and Head Coach Travis Summerlin are poised for another competitive season in 2025. Coming off a solid 19-12 campaign in 2024 that saw the team make the playoffs, the Titans will look to build on their strengths of starting pitching, stout defense, and team culture in 2025. With a roster boasting experienced returning talent and promising newcomers, Frisco Centennial aims to make a deeper playoff run this year.

The Titans’ pitching staff is led by versatile standout John Caldwell (2025), whose ability to excel both on the mound and at other positions provides the team with valuable flexibility. First Team All-District honoree Hayden O (2026) returns as a dominant two-way threat, contributing both as a pitcher and in the outfield. INF Spencer Llewellyn (2026), two-way Myles Woertendyke (2026), and the versatile Carter Hughes (2026) round out an experienced core that will be pivotal to the team’s success.

Adding to the mix are several exciting newcomers, including junior RHP/UTL Evan Carter, sophomores INF Nico Baltieri, RHP/INFs Cayden Rispaud and Matthew Echaniz, and freshman RHP/OF Ryan Weilbacher represent the next wave of Titan talent. Weilbacher, in particular, stands out as a freshman to watch, with the potential to contribute immediately. With a foundation built on pitching and defense, and a steady culture, the 2025 Titans are prepared to make their mark in a highly competitive district.
