Ethan Downum, LHH/OF: 6'0 lean build with room to add needed strength. Unique setup and approach, works for him showing ability to find barrel. Tarleton St signee with upside. Grant Dovidas, LHH/INF: Good build/frame. Upside to bat/power combo. Will be nice sign for a school.”

DIRECTOR’S NOTE
“Veteran group with a bunch of Seniors who have done it before. Getting Jorgenson back gives them a bonafide ace with experience. Downum and Dovidas give them a super athletic group from the left side. Coach Sepanek always has one of the more well coached teams in the area. I expect another deep run for this senior class.”
- Brandon Gowins, Texas Scouting Director
TEAM OUTLOOK
The Frisco Reedy Lions, led by Head Coach Mickey Sepanek, enter the 2025 season with confidence and momentum after a strong 2024 campaign that saw them finish 17-16 and advance to the Area round. The Lions are poised to build on their playoff success thanks to a deep roster anchored by experienced returners and promising newcomers. The Lions will rely on their offense and front-line pitching to take them where they want to go and compete for a district title and potentially more in 2025.
Leading the charge for the Lions are several standout returning players, highlighted by 2024 Unanimous District Offensive Player of the Year Ethan Downum, an outfielder committed to Tarleton State. Downum’s ability to set the tone at the plate will be complemented by shortstop Gavin Barker, a UT-Dallas commit and 2024 First Team All-District selection. On the mound, right-hander Jack Jorgenson, bound for McLennan CC, provides a dominant presence atop the rotation, while 2B Manny Michaud (Blinn JC) and 3B/DH Grant Dovidas round out a talented group of position players with All-District honors. Junior catcher CJ Martin, the 2024 District Newcomer of the Year, adds both defensive stability and emerging offensive potential, giving the Lions a well-rounded core to lead their charge.
Frisco Reedy will also rely on its depth and the contributions of promising underclassmen to stay competitive in 2025. Among the top newcomers, left-handed pitcher Jack Jacob (2026) and versatile OF/RHP Lincoln Harn (2027) are expected to make an immediate impact. Additionally, the Lions boast an exciting crop of freshmen, including LHP/UTL Jaiden Jimenez, RHP/3B Charlie Slawski, 1B/RHP Leo Hirner, and OF/SS Isaiah Meza, who all show great potential to contribute early in their high school careers. With a blend of seasoned veterans and emerging talent, the Lions have the pieces in place to make another deep playoff run and solidify their status as a top program in the 5A class.
