The 2025 Texas high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Texas.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Austin at the UIL State Tournament in June, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Texas. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 30 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week and updating the Power 30 rankings.

TEAM OUTLOOK

The Katy Paetow Panthers enter the 2025 season under the leadership of Head Coach Ryan Ragsdale, aiming to build off their solid 2024 campaign, which saw them finish with an 18-12 record. Expecting to be known for their offense in 2025, the Panthers boast a deep and talented lineup, headlined by standout outfielder Yarel Delgado, a Rice commit whose bat and defensive capabilities anchor the team. Complementing Delgado is a versatile group of returning players, including INF/C Emmanuel Montalvo and 1B/C Matthew Scott, both uncommitted but poised to make significant contributions. With a blend of power and consistency, Katy Paetow’s offensive strength positions them as a formidable contender in their district and potentially beyond.

The Panthers’ pitching staff is highlighted by RHP Elijah Chisam, an uncommitted senior who could be a breakout star for the Panthers this season. Younger players like RHP/1B Camden Phillips and OF/LHP Victor Salazar, both from the 2026 class, offer a glimpse into the program's bright future, bringing versatility and depth to the roster. Rising talent in the infield, such as 3B Hector Millan and MIF Adniel Quiles Torres (2027), are two more younger players to pay attention to this spring. As they look to improve on their record from a season ago, Katy Paetow's combination of experience, skill, and leadership sets the stage for an exciting season and a potential playoff berth.
