TEAM OUTLOOK

The Laredo Alexander Bulldogs, led by Head Coach Fernando A. Lemus, enter the 2025 season poised to build upon their strong 2024 campaign that saw them finish 25-10-1 and advance to the Regional Quarterfinals. The Bulldogs boast a pitching staff that will likely be the backbone of their success, considering the depth they have within the staff. With a mix of experienced returners and promising newcomers, Alexander is well-positioned to make another deep playoff run.

Returning All-District performers Andrew De Leon (TAMUK commit) and Miguel Garcia will anchor the rotation, alongside Angel Villafranca and standout junior Julio Hernandez, the 2024 District Newcomer of the Year. Offensively, the Bulldogs bring back key contributors like Eduardo Nino and Peter Palizo, both uncommitted but coming off impressive 2024 seasons. Emerging talents like Hector Benavides and newcomers Ronaldo Lorenzo and Federico Hernandez provide additional versatility and firepower. The team's depth is further bolstered by an exciting group of freshmen, including Jacob Compean, Fernando A. Lemus, Miguel Rodriguez, and Francis Valdez who are expected to contribute immediately.

With a strong blend of experienced leadership and youthful potential, the Bulldogs aim to contend for a district championship and beyond in 2025. Their deep pitching staff, combined with a balanced offense, makes them a formidable opponent in the highly competitive South Texas baseball landscape. Expect Coach Lemus’ squad to be a tough out once again come postseason play.
