TEAM OUTLOOK

The 2025 season holds promise for the Manvel Mavericks under Head Coach Brian Roberts. The Mavericks aim to build on their 2024 campaign, which was more of a rebuilding year with underclassmen stepping into big roles for the first time. Youth is the team's defining strength, with a talented core of underclassmen set to lead the charge. Returning standouts include Gabriel Roberts (2026), a versatile C/1B who earned 2024 Second Team All-District honors, and utility players Paul Wilkinson (2026) and Brayden Tuiasosopo (2027), both of whom bring versatility and pitching depth. Christian Hamilton (2027) rounds out the returning core, offering a dynamic presence both at shortstop and in the outfield. These players provide the Mavericks with an experienced yet youthful backbone poised to compete in 2025.

Joining this already young roster are several key newcomers, headlined by Jacob Jimenez (2026), a two-way threat on the mound and at the corner infield spots. Jesus Merlo (2026) adds further versatility and depth, while sophomores Alexis Garcia and Dylan Lam couple bring upside with their multi-positional abilities and pitching potential. Additionally, the Mavericks’ future looks even brighter with freshmen to watch such as middle infielders Dominic Gotti and Ahmari Browne, who could potentially see the varsity field as early as this spring. With a blend of returning talent and fresh faces, the 2025 Mavericks are well-positioned to continue to build for future years, while competing for a 6A postseason berth.
