TEAM OUTLOOK
The Mount Pleasant Tigers enter the 2025 season with high expectations, looking to build on an 18-11 campaign that culminated in a bi-district finish in 2024. Under the leadership of Head Coach Tommy Stewart, the Tigers will lean on their offense this spring, as it should be the team’s strength in 2025. With a roster blending seasoned talent and emerging stars, Mount Pleasant looks poised to make a deeper playoff push this year.
Leading the charge is a stellar group of returning players, including 2024 First Team All-District standouts LHP/OF Kortland Stovall (2026; Texas State) and OF Colby Porter (2026). Stovall, a dynamic southpaw, should anchor the rotation while also providing a significant offensive spark. Porter, a versatile outfielder, pairs well with Bennett Wall (2026; Second Team All-District) to create one of the district’s most formidable outfields. C/INF Drew Cross (2027), the reigning District Freshman of the Year, will look to build upon his impressive freshman campaign now as an experienced sophomore. 3B Jayden Tarrant (2025) rounds out a core brimming with All-District accolades.
Fresh faces will also play a pivotal role in the Tigers' success. OF/LHP Daxton Price (2028), a standout two-way player, headlines the freshman class with his versatility and high potential and is already considered one to watch for years to come. Complementing the veterans and newcomers are players like BJ Brannon (2027) and Santino Banda (2027), whose Honorable Mention All-District recognitions highlight the depth of the Tigers' roster. With a balanced mix of seasoned leadership and promising talent, Mount Pleasant has the pieces in place for an exciting 2025 season.
