The 2025 Texas high school baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Texas.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Austin at the UIL State Tournament in June, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Texas. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 30 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week and updating the Power 30 rankings.

TEAM OUTLOOK

The Pflugerville Panthers look to rebound this spring after a rebuilding year in 2024. Head Coach Dale Waggoner’s 2025 team looks to rely on their pitching and defense this season, while also touting four returners who earned All-District honors a season ago.

The Panthers bring back some intriguing pieces for 2025, including junior 1B Cole Taylor. Taylor, currently ranked within the top 250 in the state, was First Team All-District in 2024 and will look to pace the offense again in 2025. Sophomore C/INF Jose Correia is a versatile name to know on this year’s roster after earning a Second Team All-District designation as a freshman last season for his ability to perform as a utility player for the Panthers. Two seniors who were All-District Honorable Mention a season ago are back in INF Ayden Bradley and OF Ethan Minjarez, who both remain uncommitted at this time. Minjarez is a player our staff got eyes on this past January at the Waco Preseason ID, where he impressed with his overall speed and athleticism at the event; running a 6.85 60. Look for sophomore OF Tristan Brymer to also contribute in the lineup this spring as a varsity newcomer.

A pair of arms to know for the Panthers in 2025 that are returning from last year are RHP/INF Jadon Oswald (2025; uncommitted) and LHP Christian Carrillo (2027). Coach Waggoner will be looking to some newcomers to contribute on the mound this spring in RHP Sterling Salicki (2026; uncommitted), 1B/LHP Erik Reynaga (2027), INF/RHP Jacob Lemmons (2027), RHP/INF Jackson Walchak (2027), and LHP/UTL Roland Maldonado (2027).

The Panthers will be an intriguing squad to follow in the spring as they continue to build for the future. They have a solid mix of older and younger players that should help them win this spring and in the coming years. With the All-District players that are back in 2025 in addition to the young arms they are bringing into the fold, look for Coach Waggoner’s squad to rebound this spring.
