TEAM OUTLOOK
Under Head Coach Mark Cain, the Prosper Walnut Grove Wildcats enter the 2025 season looking to build off their 2024 finish that saw them finish in the regional quarterfinals. With a balanced mix of returning all-district talent and promising young players, Walnut Grove is well-positioned to contend in a competitive district, boasting depth and plenty of returning varsity experience.
The roster boasts an impressive core of top returning players, led by standout pitcher Jacob Reish (First Team All-District) and versatile contributors like Kael Cole (Panola JC commit) and Brett Hennigan (NOCTONK commit). Outfielders Seth Yeamans (Eastfield JC) and Ryan Kuhn, the 2024 District Newcomer of the Year, bring consistency to the lineup. Emerging leaders from the underclassmen include Joshua Viars (West Virginia commit), a two-way threat with extensive experience in front of our staff, being a two-time Junior Future Games participant earlier in his high school career, and rising juniors Jacob Richey and Andrew Curry, who add depth on the mound and in the infield.
The future of the program is equally promising, highlighted by a talented freshman class, including Hayes Hackney, who is currently ranked No. 14 in the state. With contributions from a mix of seasoned veterans and up-and-coming stars, Prosper Walnut Grove will aim to translate its depth and experience into a deep postseason run again in 2025.
