TEAM OUTLOOK

The San Marcos Rattlers, under Head Coach Bryan Webb, are poised to have another strong season in the state’s 6A class. After a 2024 campaign that ended with a 25-8 record and a Bi-District playoff finish, the Rattlers are looking to build on their success with a roster that returns more experienced. The Rattlers will look to play stout defense all spring as they aim to contend for a deeper playoff run this season.

The Rattlers return a wealth of talent, led by RHP/INF Zehavi Hernandez (2025), who earned Honorable Mention All-District honors last season. A young core of sophomores and juniors, including RHP/CIF Caleb Gomez, SS Juan Munos, and OF/RHP Landon Munoz—all 2024 All-District honorees—brings both versatility and postseason experience to the lineup. Emerging stars like LHP/OF Jack Vasquez (2027), who garnered Second Team All-District recognition as a freshman, and OF/LHP Elijah Ramirez (2027) add depth to the Rattlers' rotation and outfield. With a pitching staff featuring a mix of reliable arms and developing talent, San Marcos will lean heavily on their defense to allow the pitching staff to continue to develop over the course of the spring.

Adding to the team's promise are top newcomers such as INF/RHP Charles Helgeson and CIF/RHP Ronaldo Mendez-Soto, both from the 2026 class, as well as promising sophomores like RHP/C Andrew Wilson and OF/RHP Nate Velasquez. These players bring fresh energy and skill to an already dynamic roster. The Rattlers’ blend of returning leadership and new talent positions them as a formidable contender in 2025, with high expectations for a deeper postseason run fueled by their strong defensive identity.
