TEAM OUTLOOK

The Santa Fe Indians enter the 2025 season with high expectations under head coach Ronnie Wulf. Building on a successful 2024 campaign that saw the team finish 27-14-1, clinch the district championship, and advance to the regional semifinals, the Indians aim to continue their dominance with a roster emphasizing pitching and defense. These strengths, combined with a blend of experienced returners and promising newcomers, position Santa Fe as a formidable contender in the region.

Key returning players include a core of uncommitted 2025 standouts such as 1B/LHP Ronnie Rouse, a reliable presence at the plate and on the mound who earned Second Team All-District honors last season, and SS Jayce Richardson, a dynamic infielder and 2024 First Team All-District selection. 3B/RHP Jackson Higgins and versatile OF/RHP Noah Nelson, another First Team All-District honoree, add depth to the Indians' lineup and bolster their pitching rotation. New additions like OF/LHP Jarrett Williams (Lamar commit) and UTL/RHP Trenton Lewis (Baton Rouge CC commit) further strengthen the squad, while underclassmen such as OF Johnathan Baccinelli and 1B/LHP Rowdy Loftin provide exciting potential at key positions.

Santa Fe also boasts a deep freshman class, with several players to watch, including INF/RHP Calvin Van Horn and C/INF Gunnar Whitney. This incoming group complements a talented roster that already includes the versatility of players like Tyler Atkins and Talan Morgan. With a balanced mix of leadership, talent, and depth, the Indians look poised to build on last year’s success and make a deeper playoff run in 2025.
