TEAM OUTLOOK

Head Coach Mike August and the St. Francis Episcopal baseball team enter the 2025 season looking to build off a 13-11 campaign in 2024 that saw them advance to the Area round of the playoffs. The team returns a core of talented players and boasts a mix of experienced veterans and promising newcomers. With a deep starting pitching rotation and their top four offensive contributors back in action, the Wolves aim to build on last year’s playoff run and contend for a deeper postseason push in 2025.

The team will be anchored by 2024 First Team All-State and First Team All-District corner infielder Maddux El-Hakam (2025; uncommitted), whose power at the plate and leadership will set the tone offensively. Two-way standout Andres Garcia (2025; Howard Payne) brings skill and experience on the mound and at shortstop, having earned Second Team All-District honors last season. Behind the plate, Austin Reed (2025; uncommitted) provides stability and offensive firepower as an Honorable Mention All-State and First Team All-District performer. Versatile catcher and infielder Sebastian Mora (2027), a Second Team All-District honoree as a freshman, will be a key contributor as well.

Adding to the team’s depth are promising newcomers like Will Spinelli (2027) and Adam Garcia (2027), who bring versatility to the lineup. Freshmen to watch include outfielders Bryan Castallanos and Leeland El-Hakam, along with infielder Brody August, who could all make an immediate impact. With a blend of seasoned leadership and young talent, St. Francis Episcopal is poised for another strong season in 2025, with eyes set firmly on postseason success.
