Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Austin at the UIL State Tournament in June, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Texas. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 30 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week and updating the Power 30 rankings.

TEAM OUTLOOK

Under Head Coach Pat Leach, Trinity Christian Academy-Addison look to follow up a strong 2024 campaign that saw them finish 20-12 and reach the Regional Finals. This year, the team’s strengths lay in its experienced roster and a deep pitching staff, which should serve as the backbone for another playoff push. With several talented returners and a promising group of newcomers, the Trojans are poised to build on last year’s success this coming spring.

Key returners include Southern Arkansas commit JoVahn Bernard, a steady presence in the infield, and versatile players such as Colin Hamilton and Brayden Rice, who contribute both at the plate and on the mound. Everett May and Brett Yanof headline the pitching staff, providing valuable depth and reliability, while Elijah Liu and Jonathan Cook bring additional strength to the lineup. LHP Ryan Janacek (2026) and Caden Jobe (2027) are younger contributors who will play significant roles in the Trojans’ 2025 plans. This mix of seasoned veterans and underclassmen gives Trinity Christian a balanced lineup capable of competing against the best teams on their schedule.

The Trojans also welcome a wave of talented newcomers who bring excitement and potential to the roster. Players like Beck Nelson (2026) and Trent Sedberry (2027) add athleticism and versatility, while freshmen such as Vance Hernandez and Owen Burch are names to watch in the future. With strong leadership and contributions from all levels, Trinity Christian Academy is well-equipped to contend for another deep playoff push in 2025.
