TEAM OUTLOOK
The Waxahachie Indians, under Head Coach Jesse Lopez, enter the 2025 season looking to make a deeper postseason run after finishing last spring in the Bi-Districts. Competing in the highly competitive 6A classification, the Indians are poised to build on their 22-11 record behind a strong returning lineup and exciting newcomers.
Key returning players will anchor the Indians’ success, starting with standout RHP Judd Nash (Panola JC commit), a 2024 First Team All-District honoree who brings experience and reliability to the mound. OF Brodie Kelly, another First Team All-District selection, offers offensive consistency, while C Jax Robinson (Texas commit) will serve as a cornerstone behind the plate after earning 6A Third Team All-State honors as a sophomore. INF Chase Pearrow, the 2024 District Newcomer of the Year, adds versatility and reliability to the infield. Additionally, the two-way talents of RHP/INF Luke Reeves will provide depth on both the mound and at the plate, rounding out a core group that will be pivotal to the Indians’ postseason aspirations.
Complementing the veterans, a talented group of newcomers will join the team in 2025. INF Matthew Boughton and OF Weston Davis lead the charge among juniors expected to make an immediate impact, with other notable names like OF Fisher Vaughan and UTL Drew Paulino providing flexibility across multiple positions. Freshman UTL/RHP Ben Robinson and 1B/LHP Reed Saenz are already generating buzz and could see valuable playing time, signaling a bright future for the program. With RHP Will Henley (Western Oklahoma commit) and RHP/1B Luke Borders also set to contribute, Waxahachie boasts quality depth to build around for this season and future seasons. If the Indians can maintain their offensive firepower while improving on the mound, they have the tools to make a deeper playoff run in 2025.
