TEAM OUTLOOK

The Woden Eagles enter the 2025 season under Head Coach Brad Stevens with high hopes for improvement in the state’s 2A class. Coming off an 11-13 record in 2024, the Eagles will look to rebound in 2025. Woden aims to capitalize on their experience and integrate promising young talent into the lineup, while leaning on their team strength of defense.

The team will be anchored by a mix of upperclassmen and rising underclassmen. Key returning players include LHP/1B Brayden Bridges, a 2024 Honorable Mention All-District selection, and versatile 1B/RHP Wade Stanaland, who earned First Team All-District honors last season. Angel Velasco, a steady presence at third base and on the mound, will look to elevate his Second Team All-District performance alongside middle infielder Jakson Ortiz, who had a strong showing last season as a sophomore. Behind the plate, catcher Josh Hernandez adds leadership and defensive reliability, while CF/RHP Brayden Dichard rounds out the returners with his all-around contributions. The Eagles also welcome newcomers SS/RHP Landon Nerren and OF/P Kaesyn Kennedy, both from the Class of 2028, whose early potential and versatility could provide a spark on both sides of the ball.

With a roster blending experience, defensive aptitude, and emerging talent, Woden is positioned to compete for a playoff berth in 2025.
