NACOGDOCHES, TX - The Central Heights Blue Devils won on a walk off victory on Friday night 3-2 over Central Pollock HS. Leading the Blue Devils on the mound was the No. 12 ranked player in the Texas 2018 Class, Texas A&M commit Grayson Rodriguez.

Central Heights got on the board first in the bottom of the second when leadoff batter Will Haley hit into an RBI fielder’s choice, scoring Tyler Burris. Central Pollock answered with a run in the top of the third when Brandon Pope scored on a passed ball.

The score remained tied at 1 until the top of the sixth, when Central Pollock Logun Hobbs hit an RBI single to score leadoff man Tyler Carson.

After Grayson Rodriguez walked in the bottom of the sixth, the next two batters were retired on strikeouts. But Rodriguez stole second on a delay steal with the left-handed hitting Wallace in the box. Wallace then hit a 2-2 curveball to right-centerfield, scoring Rodriguez and tying the game at two.

The Blue Devils loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh with two outs and the winning run on third base. That’s when Dillon Burris hammered a 1-0 fastball over the head of the centerfielder for the 3-2 walk-off win. Final Score: Central Heights 3, Central Pollock 2.
