By Toby Bicknell
Texas Scouting Director

Our staff is working to become the #1 news source for Prep Baseball across the state of Texas. Remember to follow us on twitter (@PBR_Texas) and reach out to us with any news, commitments, or your upcoming workout and game schedule. We are hosting four EVENTS this winter to allow players the opportunity to be evaluated by our staff with video, scouting reports and verified statistics.

Since the launch of Prep Baseball Report Texas, our staff has been all over the state covering games and evaluating players. We recently released our first ranking with the 2018 class. This past weekend our staff was in Tomball to cover the College Prospects Showcase Tournament. Here are the underclass infielders that stood out this past weekend.

Peyton Chatagnier, SS, Cypress Fair HS, 2019 (Hunter Pence - Danielson)
5-foot-10, 150-pound, lean, projectable frame. The shortstop flashes good range with advanced footwork, good arm action with carry in the arm. Aggressive player, attacks ground balls and takes charge on pop-ups. The right-handed hitter has good rhythm, smooth swing and loose finish. Long stride runner.

Michael Cervantes, SS/RHP, Clear Springs HS, 2019 (Hunter Pence - Danielson)
5-foot-10, 170 pound strong frame. Has advanced defensive actions for his age. Displayed excellent footwork, quick feet, and the ability to throw on the run. Cervantes profiles as a player that should have no trouble staying on the infield in the future. Offensively has a balanced set-up, slightly crouched stance, loose finish.

Armani Sanchez, SS/RHP, Reagan HS, 2019 (Hunter Pence - Danielson)
6-foot-1, 180-pound, athletic frame. Sanchez is an all around talented player with fast-twitch tools and a live body. On defense, the glove action and footwork profile to the middle of the field. Offensively he has strong hands, good rhythm and a loose finish.

Robert Trevino, INF/ RHP, Cypress Ranch HS, 2018 (Banditos)
Approximately 6-foot-2, 175-pounds, broad shoulders, long limbed, projectable, athletic frame. Good actions at shortstop with solid arm action and arm strength. The exchange from catch-to-throw is quick and loose. Although we only saw him play for a couple of innings this is a player we look forward to following during the spring.

Izayah Quezada, IF/RHP, Pearland HS, 2018 (Hunter Pence - Danielson)
6-foot, 180-pound, sturdy, projectable frame, broad shoulders, long limbs. The infielder moves well defensively and appears bigger than his listed height. Quezada has all-around tools that project well to the next level and he is certainly a player to follow this coming spring.
