PLANO, TX - It never fails, the talent in Texas is always impressive, and Saturday revealed more quality depth in both the 2020 and 2021 class, along with several 2019 standouts. Statistics have already been uploaded into players profiles, with video to follow this week. For now, lets take a look at just a few of the players that had impressive performance.

Uncommitted Seniors

2019 3B/1B Kalen Clark (Coppell HS) hammered the ball around the yard during BP, including a home run. The right-handed hitter has pull side pop with natural lift.

Position Players and 2-way guys

2021 C Nick Lazzara (Dallas Jesuit) is a switch-hitting catcher with strength, rhythm, and feel for the barrel from both sides of the plate. His batting practice was impressive to say the least, and he posted pop times of 2.04-2.1 with a top velocity from the crouch of 78 mph.

2021 C/RHP Creed Willems (Aledo HS) threw bullets from behind the plate and on the mound. After posting pop times of 1.93-2.04 with a top velocity from the crouch of 79 mph, the right-hander topped out at 90 on the bump, sitting mostly 87-88, with a 78 mph curveball and 78-79 mph changeup.

A two-way player, Goheen threw 88 from the outfield with outstanding carry, posted an 89 exit velocity and ran a 7.18 60-yard dash.

Pitchers

At 6-foot-2, approximately 200-pounds, the right-hander has a sturdy frame with a long arm swing from a ¾ slot that produces heavy bowling ball sink at 84-86 mph. Plus feel for a 71-72 mph breaker with 10/4 shape. The changeup is also plus with heavy arm side sink at 74-75 mph.

2021 LHP Chandler Benson (Frisco Liberty HS) has clean arm swing with a low effort delivery. His fastball was 76-80 mph, but its easy to dream that there is more in the tank with natural maturation over the next few years.

2020 RHP Caleb Cain (Heath HS) was 81-84 from a high slot with a long arm swing and quick hand out front that allows him to create angle on a fastball that jumps out of his hand. The curveball was only 66 mph, but has quality downer shape.
