On October 10th the PBR Texas Staff traveled to Lake Dallas HS to host the DFW Fall ID. The event featured more than 50 2023-2026 prospects from around the state and provided our staff an ample look at every player in attendance.

We continue the analysis from the event with a look at all of the catchers in attendance. We broke down the top-three Infielders on the day followed by the rest of the catchers in attendance.

TOP catchers 

1. James Raecek, Plano West, 2024
Positional Profile: C/OF
Body: 6-0, 170-pounds.
Hits: RHH. Balanced stance, very small foot lift load trigger, barrel tilt swing trigger. Direct path to the ball, level swing plane, using the middle of the field hitting line drives and flyballs.
Power: 91 max exit velocity, averaged 82.6 MPH. 317' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-76 mph. Short arm action with throws on the bag and good carry.
Defense: 2.17-2.18 pop times. Lower half and feet consistently in line with 2B, clean transfer to release.
Run: 7.02 runner in the 60.

2. Parker Burt, Mansfield, 2023
Positional Profile: C/1B
Body: 6-3, 182-pounds.
Hits: RHH. Balanced stance with front shoulder slightly pointing down, back elbow at the catcher, coils up slightly to load with a leg kick. Direct path to the ball at times with good bat speed, squares up the ball often, long finish.
Power: 95 max exit velocity, averaged 84.7 MPH. 332' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-74 mph. Quick release at times with good carry and accurate throws on the bag.
Defense: 2.04-2.08 pop times. Good, clean footwork getting in line with 2B, smooth transfer to release
Run: 7.48 runner in the 60.

3. Owen Hooper, Wichita Falls Rider, 2024
Positional Profile: C/3B
Body: 5-11, 195-pounds.
Hits: RHH. Balanced stance with the front leg slightly open, small leg lift load trigger, barrel tilt swing trigger with some rhythm pre-pitch. Slightly uphill swing plane using the middle of the field hitting line drives and fly balls.
Power: 93 max exit velocity, averaged 82.1 MPH. 295' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-82 mph. Long release with strong arm and throws consistently at or around 2B.
Defense: 2.01-2.08 pop times. Good footwork getting in line with 2B consistently, smooth transfer to release.
Run: 7.25 runner in the 60.

Positional Profile: C/1B
Body: 6-3, 185-pounds.
Hits: RHH. Balanced stance, slightly open, hands up high near his head, quick leg lift load trigger Hands come down from pre-pitch setup to trigger swing, quick swing once hands trigger with a slight uppercut finish.
Power: 90 max exit velocity, averaged 76.6 MPH. 297' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-78 mph. OF-82 mph. Outfield: Some carry on throws to 3B, with some throws on the bag Catcher: Good carry to 2B with throws on the bag.
Defense: 2.08-2.11 pop times. Outfield: Good footwork at times getting in line with target, fields the ball with some momentum towards target at times. Catcher: Good footwork getting in line with 2B at times, clean transfer to release.

Carson Creek, Liberty Christian, 2023
Positional Profile: C/RHP
Body: 5-10, 185-pounds.
Hits: RHH. Balanced stance, slight bat waggle pre-pitch, leg kick load trigger, hands go back slightly to trigger swing. Uphill swing plane using the pull-side to hit line drives and some fly balls.
Power: 87 max exit velocity, averaged 80.1 MPH. 298' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-73 mph. Quick release, throws on the bag consistently every time.
Defense: 2.03-2.07 pop times. Quick footwork getting in line, clean transfer to release.
Run: 7.58 runner in the 60.

Dominic Gerster, TACA, 2025
Positional Profile: C/SS
Body: 5-8, 150-pounds.
Hits: RHH. Balanced stance, leg kick load trigger with a slight barrel tilt to trigger swing. Direct path to the ball on an uphill swing plane hitting line drives and fly balls primarily to the LCF gap.
Power: 91 max exit velocity, averaged 81.4 MPH. 354' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-73 mph. Good release with accurate throws on the bag.
Defense: 2.40-2.51 pop times. Good footwork getting in line with 2B consistently with a good transfer to release.

Brady Sims, John Paul II, 2024
Positional Profile: C/1B
Body: 6-3, 200-pounds.
Hits: RHH. Balanced stance, slight bend in the knees, leg lift load trigger, barrel tilt off the shoulder to trigger swing. Direct path on a slightly uphill swing plane hitting line drives up the middle and to the pull-side.
Power: 90 max exit velocity, averaged 83.6 MPH. 320' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-75 mph. Short arm action, good release, accurate throws consistently at the bag with good carry
Defense: 2.08-2.19 pop times. Good footwork getting lower half and feet in line with 2B, clean transfer to release.

Body: 5-9, 170-pounds.
Hits: RHH. Very Quiet set up with 0 movement. Hands hang out over the plate to start
