John Tyler 'JT' Mounce OF / OF / Cypress Christian, TX / 2019

Mounce is a fast-twitch left-handed hitting outfielder that stands 5-foot-10, 150-pounds. His batting practice was consistent all week as he showed the ability to use the whole field, making hard contact from the middle-to-opposite field gap. He has a balanced setup with a smooth, simple, direct hand path with a loose finish. He started the week by breaking the “event record” 60-yard dash with a 6.49. He has game changing speed on the bases, putting pressure on the defense on multiple occasions including running a 3.91 on a drag bunt, stealing bases and moving up on dirt balls. He took a solid swing against a 90+ mph fastball and was on time, but just missed the barrel, hitting a fly ball to right field with a 5.83-second hang time. On Saturday he showcased strong defensive tools. He cut off a would-be double down the left field line and hosed the runner at second base with a strong throw on top of the bag. Two batters later he opened up and ran down another would-be double to the left field warning track.

Caleb Munton C / OF / Wylie, TX / 2019

Munton has a strong, muscular frame at 6-foot, 190-pounds. He is an advanced switch hitter with bat speed and power from both sides of the plate. He has smooth rhythm from both the right-and left side which gives him the ability to deliver the barrel on time as well as drive the ball. From the left-side in game one, he was 1-for-2 with a hard ground ball through the middle. In game two, batting right-handed in his first at-bat, Munton destroyed a triple to deep center field. From the left side he laced a line drive into the left-centerfield gap. In game three, from the left side, he scorched a ground ball that would have been a double play, but he beat the play at first base.  Athletic for his size, Munton also ran 7.05-second 60-yard dash. Defensively, he posted pop times of 2.0-2.12 during the workout, while also throwing out a runner a game to record the hat-trick.

Matt Santos LHP / Cypress Creek, TX / 2019

Santos has a projectable frame with broad shoulders, standing 6-feet, 185-pounds. The left-hander works from a high-¾ slot with a clean arm stroke and repeatable delivery. In two innings of work, he got early swings from hitters on his fastball, ranging from 81-85 mph. He turns his fastball over to his glove side, showing some heavy action while getting the ball under right-handed hitters’ hands. He threw his curveball at 72 mph with 1-7 shape. He flashed a changeup at 78 mph with arm side run.

Carson Keithley LHP / OF / Alvin, TX / 2020

Keithley is a young player with long-limbed 5-foot-9, 145-pound frame with lots of room to add strength in the coming years. The left-handed hitter has a simple swing with a flat path and loose finish as the barrel stays in the zone a long time. He had several hard groundouts the the other way, including a base hit on a chopper up the middle. With Keithley’s all-around athleticism and projectable frame, he is likely to make significant jumps in the coming year. On the mound, the left-hander worked with good tempo, clean delivery, quick arm stroke and presence on the mound. He pounded the zone from a high-3/4 slot, has a good feel for controlling the running game and is an athlete when fielding his position. He challenged hitters throughout his outing with a fastball that sat 80-83 mph, also showing a breaking ball with 1-7 shape at 67-69.

Cole Posey SS / 2B / Georgetown, TX / 2019

Posey is an athletic infielder with a high motor, standing 5-foot-10, 165-pounds, with a lean muscular frame. Defensively he has quick footwork with rhythm through the ball and exchanges the ball cleanly in the mid-line of his body. Accurate arm with a quick release, stays in line as he follows his throws. On the week, the right-handed hitter had several quality at-bats including a base hit up the middle and an RBI ground-out, with an HBP and a walk sprinkled in.
