Georgetown vs. Hutto (2 Games)

Ben Kurio
PBR Texas Intern

GEORGETOWN, TX - The Georgetown Eagles are one of the hottest teams in Texas, and have been all season with a 26-2 Overall record, 10-0 entering last week and ranked No. 4 in the PBR Texas Power 25. Coach Foster put together a challenging early season schedule, and his club passed that test, along with running the table in district. But last week presented another challenge for this veteran club as they lined up with the Hutto Hippos, a junior heavy team with plenty of their own talent. Once again, The Eagles got it done, winning on Tuesday 4-0, and Thursday 3-2 to remain undefeated in district and clinch the 18-5A Championship. Here is the recap from our Scouting Intern Ben Kurio in the Austin Area.

GAME 1

Georgetown got on the board early, scoring two runs in the first inning. After a defensive miscue allowed the first run to score, Jackson Sioson drove in the second run with an RBI single to left field. Georgetown would add two more runs in the fourth on a double by Ty Tilson.

Wyatt Childress was the catalyst for the Georgetown offense at the plate. He tallied three hits on the night, including a double in the third inning.

Pitching was the story of the game for the Eagles. Senior right handed pitchers Jack Brinley and Reece Grimes combined for the shutout, only allowing one hit.
