HOUSTON, TX - Houston Lamar hosted Houston Heights on Tuesday night in a in a district 18-6A matchup. The game featured five different lead changes throughout the night.

Lamar was paced at the plate by 2020 SS Drew Woodcox (No. 50 in 2020 PBR Texas rankings and No. 404 in 2020 PBR overall rankings, committed to Texas Tech) 3-5 with a walk-off grand slam, 2019 2B Chris Gutierrez (committed to Blinn JC) who had three hits and an RBI and 2019 3B Alex Lopez(No. 96 in 2019 PBR Texas rankings, committed to McLennan JC) who had two hits, a double and an RBI. 2020 RHP/1B Cameron Meisenbach also had a solo home run while getting the win on the mound with two scoreless innings.

For Heights, they were led by 2020 RHP/3B Vincent Sanchez who was 2-4 with a two-run home run while also throwing five innings in the start allowing five runs, four earned, on eight hits with three walks and five strikeouts mixing a low-80’s fastball and curveball. 2020 DH Haru Tidmore also had two hits and an RBI.

Texas Tech commit. Estimated 6-foot, 180-pound athletic frame. Showcases good footwork, smooth hands, and a quick, strong arm. At the plate, the right-handed hitter uses a short leg lift to get his load started. His hands are short and quick to the ball and long through the swing past contact.
