Jared Mack, RHP, Ridge Point HS, 2018
Lamar recruit. Plus Athleticism. Repeats delivery with short arm stroke. FB 88-91 touch 94.  Slider 79-82. Command comes and goes. Great Competitor and carries same demeanor throughout game. Very consistent in Body Language. Very effective when he pitches in with FB. Huge ceiling and upside.  

Matthew Scott, RHP, Ridge Point HS, 2018
5-foot-11, 175-pound frame. Command right-hander that mixes off speed effectively.  lots of strikes.  Reliever type guy. FB 81-82, CB 65, CH 74

Zach Johnson, SS, Ridge Point HS, 2018
5-foot-10, 165-pound frame. Good defender who makes all the routine plays. Decent athlete. has solid at bats from the 5 hole on good HS Team.

Gabriel Colliani, OF, Ridge Point HS, 2019
5-foot-9, 160-pound. Good speed.  Excellent mature at bats from left side. Very compact stroke, with good balance and pitch recognition. Gap to Gap approach with clean stroke. Gets good jumps off bat in centerfield, will get better at reading balls to the gap, has closing speed.   Polished mechanically. Arm is average right now.

Will Pendergrass, 3B, Ridge Point HS, 2020
6-foot, 165-pound, rangy frame that will continue to fill out. Good instinctual player. Has a good feel for the game. Good reactions and arm strength at 3rd. Ranged to the six-hole several times. Pendergrass is a player that college coaches will want to follow this summer.

Kyle Croft, C, Ridge Point HS, 2018
6-foot, 185-pound frame. Baseball player and leader. Defensively handles the game well.  Does all the little things on a good HS Team. Plays the game with energy and hustle. Pop times 2.1-2.2 . Very good awareness and solid backstop. Fun to watch.

Matt Thompson, RHP, Cypress Ranch HS, 2019 
Texas A&M recruit. 6-foot-2, 170-pound, lean, athletic, high-waisted frame. The right-hander has repeatable, in-line delivery with a high slot and an electric arm stroke as the ball jumps out of his hand. His fastball ranged from 88-91 mph with arm side life, topping out at 93 mph. Thompson has pin-point command of his wipe-out slider at 81-83 mph. The sophomore stays on the baseball, releasing it out front with good extension. Competes with confidence on the mound, will add a pause in his delivery to throw off the hitters timing.  

Kyle Gough, RHP, Cypress Ranch HS, 2018
6-foot-2, 160-pound frame. Right-handed reliever that competes with 2 pitch mix. FB 86-88 mph with some arm side run, sharp CB with 11/5 shape. really falls off to 1B side in delivery.

Bryce Toney, LHP, Cypress Ranch HS, 2018
5-foot-11, 160-pound frame. The left-hander entered the game in relief. His arm works, fastball was approximately in the low-to-mid 80’s with a sharp 12-6 curveball. Although his command may have been a bit of a question mark during this outing, we are looking forward to seeing him again this summer.

Colton Cowser, OF, Cypress Ranch HS, 2018
Sam Houston State recruit.  6-foot-3, 185-pound frame. Showed solid range on defense when he ran down a ball in the gap. The left-handed hitter has an inside-out approach and stays on the baseball through contact with strong hands. Put together competitive at-bats and battles with two-strikes.

Hayden Evans, SS, Cypress Ranch HS, 2017
Angelina JC recruit. 5-foot-10, 180-pound, physical frame with broad shoulders. The left-handed hitter takes a big time hack and does not get cheated. Offensive infielder with a good arm and limited range.

 

DEER PARK VS. CLEAR SPRINGS HS - 05.18.17

Peyton Sherlin, LHP, Deer Park HS, 2017
Dallas Baptist recruit. 6-foot-1, 200-pound frame. Pounds the zone with strikes. Cutter is best pitch. Locates FB to both sides. CB for strikes. FB late in count. Fields position well. Delivery is smooth and repeatable, even late in the game. Shows great poise and command.

Clay Aguilar, 1B, Deer Park HS, 2017
Houston recruit. 6-foot-1, 190-pound frame. Strong player, plays the game with good feel and tempo. Physical presence at the plate. The left-handed hitter shows ability to drive ball to gap. Makes good adjustments pitch to pitch, at-bat to at-bat. Soft hands and solid glove action at first base with a strong arm.

Chase Keng, OF, Deer Park HS, 2017
Texas-San Antonio recruit.  6-foot-1, 195-pound frame. Solid defender in centerfield, gets quick jumps and shows range. The left-handed hitter has a quick bat with pop, handles fastball very well.  

Josiah Ortiz, SS, Deer Park HS, 2017
5-foot-11, 185-pound frame. Strong arm from shortstop. The right-handed hitter has a strong quick bat with some juice. Solid all-around tools for his position. Plays the game aggressively.

Blake Schultz, RHP, Clear Springs HS, 2018
Louisiana-Lafayette recruit. 6-foot-1, 175-pound, strong, sturdy frame. The right-hander works from a high-¾ slot with a clean, easy arm stroke with a smooth delivery. Creates downward angle on his fastball that was approximately (no radar gun) in the upper-80’s. Works the outer half of the plate and shows command of four pitches. Changeup is an advanced pitch with fastball arm speed and good depth. Curveball is average with good spin and locates for strikes. Slider is sharp and locates well at the bottom of the zone and on the outer half. Has the ability to throw all four pitches for strikes to both right and left-handed hitters. Big time upside as

Drew Minter, 1B, Clear Springs HS, 2017
Houston recruit. 6-foot-1, 195-pound, strong, athletic frame. The right-handed hitter has a physical presence at plate.  Does not get cheated with at-bats. Plays the game with extreme confidence and energy.  Good Athlete.  Plus defender at first base, shows range, glove action and elite arm strength. Very Flexible for strong body. Very good profile for a corner player in college. Middle of the order hitter with projectable power for the next level.

Ty Luper, 3B, Clear Springs HS, 2018
5-foot-11, 175-pound frame. The left-hander hits in cleanup spot for Clear Springs with a solid stroke, turns on the ball naturally. Put together good at-bats vs. a LHP. Average defender at third base.

Michael Gillaspia, OF, Clear Springs HS, 2018
6-foot, 170-pound, athletic frame. Fast-twitch player with good speed, posted a 3.89 on a push bunt, 4.4 on the turn on a base hit to the outfield. The right-handed hitter has a line drive swing and covers ground in the outfield.

Colton Haught, OF, Clear Springs HS, 2017
6-foot, 185-pound, physical, strong, athletic frame. Runs well with a 4.18-second time to first on a ground ball to shortstop.
