Ranked #71 in PBR Draft 100

6-foot-1, 200-pound strong, athletic frame. Showed some of the best all-around tools at Battle of the Borders event. DeLoach showed above average arm strength from center field during In-and-Out. He covered a lot of ground during games getting to balls in both gaps. Offensively, he has an athletic set-up, showing smooth rhythm and hand strength through contact in the middle of the field. His best home-to-first time was 4.25 on full swing ground ball to shortstop. Zach had a couple of base hits up the middle and was active on the bases after a couple of walks, stealing second base as well as going first to third on a wild pitch.

PBR: What was your summer experience like?

ZD: It was a great experience. The thing with summer baseball is that you get to meet and play with some great ball players and make some great connections. Also you get to play in some nice stadiums!

PBR: What are your high school team's expectations for the spring?

ZD: Our expectations as a team is just to compete for another district title and go deep into the playoffs.

PBR: What are your personal goals as you head into the season?

ZD: Some personal goals I have for myself is to stay healthy and be prepared for anything that comes my way throughout the season to help my team win games.

PBR: What part of your game do you think you need to improve the most?

ZD: I am working really hard on becoming a better base runner. Even though I am a fast runner, I don't get as many bases stolen as I would like. This year I am trying to be more aggressive and being able to time my jumps better.

PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher you faced?

ZD: Hans Crouse is from California and is about 95-97 with good offspeed. One of the best pitchers I've ever seen.

PBR: What are your interests outside of baseball?

ZD: I like to hangout with my friends and go to my school events. In the offseason, I like to go hunting.

PBR: Is there another player you model your game after?

ZD: Yes, Mike Trout, he plays with swagger and knows how to help a team win.

PBR: What was on your checklist when you were looking for a college program?

ZD: Program success. Good coaches. Good education. A coaching staff that is invested in the players. Current players. Atmosphere of school. Conference. Location.

PBR: What drew you to commit to Texas A&M?

ZD: The coaches, facilities, education, and team success over the past couple years.

PBR: Is there a moment or achievement so far in your career that stands out from the rest?

ZD: Just being able to go to all of these great events such as Area Code Games and Connie Mack Tournament and having success to build my confidence as a ball player.
