Inside the 2022 Rankings - RHP

Phil Haig

Following along with the great tradition of Texas producing top end pitching prospects, the 2022 class is no different. Today we take a look at a group of projectable right handed arms that has developed into a deep class. Lets take a quick glance at the top 10 right handed pitchers in the 2022 Class.

Chase Shores headlines the class as an arm with loads of present talent and future projection, but the arms to follow are nothing to scoff at. Wyatt Wiatrek is another strong framed power right hander that has the ability to spin the breaking ball right now and is also built to handle a heavy workload as he continues to mature as a pitcher. Lucas Davenport is another that has quite the high ceiling. Davenport has been up to 93/94 mph recently and flashes a tight late slider when its right.

There are also a couple of uncommitted arms that made their way on to the list in Max Grubbs, and Collin McKinney. Grubbs is a guy that currently throws 3 pitches for strikes and spins a quality breaking ball up to 80 mph, which makes me think there is plenty more in the tank down the road. McKinney is a guy that started to pop some big velocities early in the high school season, up to 92/93 mph, and shows a frame that will only continue to mature with time.
