Top 10

Blake Mitchell C / Sinton, TX / 2023

The 6-foot, 185-pounder has loose, flexible hips with soft hands that allow him to receive quietly while also producing impressive pop times thanks to a strong throwing arm and quick release. Interestingly, Mitchell also runs a fastball into the upper 80s on the mound which only enforces the athleticism that he has and the likelihood that he will continue to make progressions in the future.

Jakob Schulz LHP / Memorial, TX / 2023

Schulz possesses thick present strength throughout a mature, 6-foot-2, 210-pound broad-shouldered frame with definition throughout especially in the lower-half. There is a fierceness to his concentration on the mound, and with three pitches that could ultimately grade out as above average, Schulz is clearly one of the better arms in the 2023 class.

Dillon Lester C / Deer Park, TX / 2023

Lester, a switch-hitter, has a strong skill set that plays even higher in game. A quick transfer and accurate arm make him an above average defender, and his fluid stroke from both sides and barrel awareness only help to elevate his profile

Brayden Sharp OF / The Woodlands, TX / 2023

Baylor Commit, lean, athletic left handed arm that can also swing it from the left side. the FB sits 87-89 flashing arm side run and the CB  is 72-75 w/ sharp action and good feel for spin. Lots to like about the upside of Sharp as he continues to develop into a big time prospect

Travis Sykora RHP / Round Rock, TX / 2023

6-foot-5, 210-pound frame that looks stronger and more explosive than last year. Throws form a ¾ slot with a short arm path and a quick arm. creates tough angles for hitter, is aggressive and has some effort in his delivery. We saw his fastball touch 94 this season while sitting 91-93.

Tristan Russell SS / Cypress Woods, TX / 2023

Florida State commit. Athletic, switch-hitting SS with a smooth swing from both sides and ability to hit it to all fields. Soft hands defensively with smooth footwork, clean exchange, and a strong arm.

Weston Moss RHP / Oak Ridge, TX / 2023

"The 6-foot-4, 170-pound Texas A&M recruit is ultra projectable with a long-limbed, wiry-athletic frame. He demonstrates impressive understanding of the difficult movement patterns that his growing frame produces, and because of this, found a consistent high ¾ slot. His delivery is crisp, clean, and polished with a medium-sized, continuous arm stroke that features some whip and especially quickness out front." - Shooter Hunt

Tristan (TJ) Pompey SS / Coppell, TX / 2023

Pompey has an ease to his game that is not often seen in a young player both at the plate and defensively. Wiry-athletic with plenty of physical projection, the right-handed hitter has quick hands with some whip to the barrel. There is some uphill intent, and his well-connected setup and fluid load provide for some explosive movement through impact. The likelihood that Pompey develops even more power in the future seems strong, and as the frame continues to mature and add strength, he should acquire it quickly

Conner Bennett C / Oak Ridge, TX / 2023

The right-handed hitter has some twitch with the barrel, and he plays much bigger than his frame would suggest and the energy and bounce combine with an innate confidence to elevate his tools.

Elliott Foreman C / New Diana, TX / 2023

Foreman is one of the top receivers in the state with soft hands and a strong arm. His projectable 6-foot-2, 182-pound frame is likely to hold much more strength in the future, and he shows accuracy of the barrel in driving the ball from gap-to-gap. Interesting to note, Foreman also flashes considerable upside on the mound

Risers

Cam Johnson SS / Boerne , TX / 2023

Up 22 Spots

Wichita State commit. Lanky, projectable athlete hits from the left side with a smooth swing. Shows ability to hit to all fields and can hit the pitch anywhere in the strike zone. Plays clean defense at SS with good arm strength. Will be an interesting player to watch as he continues to fill out his frame.

Ethan Mendoza SS / Southlake Carroll , TX / 2023

Up 10 Spots

RHH IF with a quick whip swing with high exit velo numbers both times we saw him last summer. Has continued to build off of that with a strong season so far this spring. Plays with high energy and shows clean defensive actions at 2B

Newcomers

Dane Burns LHP / Allen , TX / 2023

Lanky, projectable LHP up to 85 with lots of strikes. Velocity continues to tick up each time we see him. Mixes in a true curveball at 71-73 with an average spin of 2656 rpm, max of 2731 rpm. Fearless mentality on the mound, not afraid to challenge the batter. Lots of growth/development left for Burns.

Micah Kendrick SS / Jasper , TX / 2023

ULL commit. Lanky, projectable LHH SS with good athleticism. Shows the ability to hit to all fields and flashes pull-side pop. Defensively shows clean, athletic actions up the middle.

Tobias Motley SS / Cy-Ranch , TX / 2023

Athletic, raw actions at SS flashing a strong arm, showing ability to make the throw on the move away from 1B. Quick swing flashing pull side power.

Jacob Escovedo OF / The Woodlands, TX / 2023

Athletic LHH OF with good bat speed, showed the ability to pull his hands in and take an inside pitch to the pull side with potential pull-side power.
