Klein Wins On 2-Run Home Run By Gonzalez

HOUSTON, TX- Klein HS vs. Klein Forest HS competed in an evening came at Klein Forest. The contest featured 2018 LHP Preston Potter (Klein HS), and 2019 RHP Hagen Barcello (Klein Forest).
Both starters threw well, each going at least five innings and only allowing a run between the two of them. Klein Forest got out to an early one-run lead in the bottom of the second when Seth Andrews drove in a run on a fielder’s choice ground ball. The score remained 1-0 until the top of the seventh.
2018 San Jacinto JC commit Bryant Salgado who showcased great velocity and command in the two innings pitched.
Struggling to get on the board, and down to their last out, Klein’s Ryan Harris (Western Texas commit) reached on a single. Then Texas Tech commit, Jose Gonzalez came to the plate. The left-handed hitter drove a ball deep to right field for a 2-run homer, putting the Bearkats up 2-1. Preston Potter worked a quick seventh inning, to record the complete game effort and seal the victory for Klein. Final Score: Klein 2-Klein Forest 1
