COLLEGE STATION, TX - College Station hosted Magnolia on Friday night for a district 19-5A matchup.

Three innings including one big inning were the difference maker for Magnolia. They jumped out early with a two spot on an RBI single from 2019 SS Austin Holland. They then had a big four-run inning in the 4th that was spearheaded by RBI singles from 2019 C Bo Willis (No. 46 in 2019 PBR Texas rankings and No. 346 in 2019 PBR overall rankings, committed to Texas Tech), 2020 1B Cole Ketzner(No. 118 in 2020 PBR Texas rankings) and Holland. Magnolia added two more in the 7th, once again on back to back RBI singles from Willis and Ketzner.

2020 RHP Brady Loving (No. 104 in the 2020 PBR Texas rankings) was dominant all night. He went the complete game allowing 2 runs on 3 hits and 4 walks with 11 strikeouts. Mixed his fastball and curveball well to keep College Station off balance all night.

College Station was led at the plate by 2019 SS Kit Cawley (No. 320 in the 2019 PBR Texas rankings, committed to Drury University) who had College Station’s only RBI and 2021 C ChandenScamardo (No. 48 in the 2021 PBR Texas rankings) who was 1-2 with a double.

On the mound, 2020 RHP Zach Childers (No. 28 in the 2020 PBR Texas rankings and No. 217 in the 2020 PBR overall rankings, committed to Baylor) and 2020 RHP Dillon Janac (No. 20 in the 2020 PBR Texas rankings and No. 133 in the 2020 PBR overall rankings, committed to Rice) each threw a scoreless of relief while striking out one and striking out the side respectively.

Brady Loving, RHP, Magnolia, 2020
Uncommitted. Estimated 6-foot-3, 195-pound, lanky frame with a high waist. The right-hander throws from a high ¾ slot with a long arm swing. His fastball was 83-85 mph, touched 87 mph early and settled in at 82-84 mph, touching 86 mph. Commanded the fastball consistently low in the zone to both sides of the plate. Also threw a curveball that 74-77 mph the entire night with 11-5 action. Threw it glove side for swing and misses outside the zone and was able to land it arm side in the strike zone.
