Committed Players

+ 2019 3B/RHP Chandler Freeman (Liberty Hill HS) is a Dallas Baptist commit and currently ranked No. 18 in TX, No. 123 Overall. This past fall, Freeman mowed down hitters at the All-State Games, running his fastball up to 90 mph, and mixing in a sharp 75-77 mph curveball. A two-way talent, Freeman has smooth footwork and a strong arm (91 mph) across the infield. At the plate, he generates easy gap power with more to come, and the ball jumps off his bat.

+ 2020 1B/RHP Gage Boehm (Hutto HS) is a Texas commit that first burst onto the scene at the Central Texas Open in December of 2016. Boehm was an every day player on the Hippo’s varsity team last year, and was one of the top performers from the South Texas Underclass Games, where he had two hits on the barrel and launched balls out of the yard during batting practice. Currently ranked No. 14 in TX, and No. 64 Overall, Boehm has a strong frame for a sophomore at 6-foot-4, 245-pounds. Another two-way talent, the right-hander has a quick arm on the mound with good feel for spin, and more velocity to come in the future.

+ 2019 C/OF Bo Willis (Magnolia HS) is committed to Texas Tech and currently ranked No. 37 in TX, No. 182 Overall. Willis has a strong frame at 6-foot-2, 195-pounds, he shows great arm strength behind the dish, and and plenty of power at the plate.

Uncommitted Players

+ 2019 LHP/1B Jack Hattrup, (Plano West HS) is currently ranked No. 97 in TX. The left-hander has a confident demeanor on the bump, and had a stellar outing at the All-State Games, punching out three hitters and getting weak contact overall. Hattrup has good feel for three pitches and is primed to make a jump in his junior year.

+ 2019 C Jimmy Crooks (Trinity HS) is one of the top uncommitted players in the Texas 2019 Class, No. 108. The left-handed hitter has good barrel awareness and a fluid swing at the plate with natural lift. At the All-State Games this fall, Crooks had some of the best pop times (1.97) to go with an 80 mph velocity from the crouch.

+ 2019 SS Nate White (Arlington HS) spent the fall on the gridiron, but was still able to run a 6.79 at the All-State games. He has an athletic frame at 5-foot-11, 175-pounds, and has soft hands and smooth footwork at shortstop. White is currently ranked No. 122 in Texas.

+ Keep an eye on two sets of twin brothers in attendance. The Butlers and the Speakers. Makel and Malik Butler are 2020 grads from Poteet HS, both have athletic frames at 6-foot-3, 180-pounds, and both had strong performances at the North Texas Underclass Trials last summer. The Speaker twins from All Saints Episcopal will also be in attendance, C/RHP Mason and SS/RHP Jacob. Last time we saw Jacob, he knocked in the game winning run for All-Saints in a walk-off victory in the high school playoffs.
