SEASON PREVIEW

The Saints return a seasoned club from a 2017 season that came up short in the SPC State Semi Finals and finished with an overall record of 27-5. Number one starter and Texas Tech recruit 2018 LHP Cade Farr returns. Farr stands 6-foot-6 and currently ranked No. 27 in the Texas 2018 Class, No. 130 Overall. His fastball has been up to 90, and mostly sits in the upper-80's, and he also has a sharp slider to put hitters away. There are a number of options that Coach Fehler has on the mound as well. 2018 C/RHP Caleb Silvia is back after logging significant innings behind the plate and on the mound last season. The Speaker twins, Jacob and Mason, both two-way players, have added significant size and strength in the past year. Last week, Mason was up to 88 mph at the Preseason All State Event.

The lineup will be solid, as the saints offense is highlighted by 2019 OF Logan Britt. The Texas A&M recruit is ranked No. 3 in the Texas 2019 Class, No. 12 Overall. Britt has the unique combination of power and speed to go along with a projectable 6-foot-5 frame. Along side Britt in the outfield is LHH Luke Brockermeyer, who is committed to Rice for football. The left side of the infield returns with Jacob Speaker and Andrew Bird, while Mason Speaker, Caleb Silvia and Cade Farr all put up solid offensive numbers last year as well. Not only do the Saints have talent on the mound with a bonafide #1 starter, but they have the depth and experience that could allow them to bring home some hardware this season.
