Southlake Carroll and Flower Mound opened district play on Tuesday night with two highly touted seniors matching up on the mound. 2017 RHP Kole Ramage, an Arkansas recruit, would get the ball for Southlake Carroll, while 2017 RHP Ryan Stuempfig, a Wichita State recruit, would get the ball for Flower Mound. Both starters would go six innings, but Ramage would go the distance, earning the 2-1 win over Flower Mound.

Through the first three frames, both starters would match each other, putting up zeros on the board. But in the fourth, Southlake Carroll would score two runs on a single off the bat of junior Cole Johnson. Johnson would finish the night 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI.

Flower Mound would answer with a run of their own in the bottom of the sixth. Carson Bradley would lead off the inning with a walk, and Kyle Landers would single through the left side to bring up Dylan Antonelli. Antonelli hit a sharp single to left field to drive in Landers for the Jags' lone run of the game.

Kole Ramage put together an outstanding performance on Tuesday night for the Dragons. He went seven complete innings, allowing only one run on five hits and two walks, while striking out ten Jag's batters. Ramage gave the Flower Mound offense fits, as he was able to throw his breaking ball with precision in any count. Ramage would finish off the seventh inning by striking out the side, and giving Carroll High School a 1-0 district record.

Although Ryan Stuempfig would take the loss for Flower Mound, he would allow only one earned run on four hits and one walk, while striking out two Carroll batters. Reliever Eric Jones would work a scoreless seventh inning for the Jags.
