season preview

The Dallas Jesuit Rangers are coming off a stellar 2016 campaign that ended with a 6A State Championship. The 2017 Rangers will showcase solid pitching and defense, led on the mound by two seniors; right-hander J.J. Montenegro (Arizona commit), and left-hander Jacob Palisch (Stanford commit). Montenegro and Palisch both earned 1st Team All-District last season with a combined win-loss record of 18-5. Palisch, was awarded an All-State selection last year for his 11-1 record and 117 strike-outs.

Jesuit also returns four seniors that will anchor the defense; IF Mark Ready (Santa Clara commit), IF J.T. Mix, 1B Will Guzman, and OF Alex Lengyel. Mix and Guzman both earned 1st-Team All-District in 2016 with Mix batting .323 and Guzman batting .360. These four will make up the core of the line-up that will combine with a talented group of underclassman. Keep an eye on infielder Jaden Woodson, already committed to play at Texas, the sophomore is currently ranked #10 in the 2019 PBR Texas Ranking and #68 Overall.
