The Texas high school season kicks off on February 19, the first day for regular season games. Most teams will begin practicing on January 26, getting their rosters set and finalizing their lineups.

Over the next several weeks, leading up to opening day, we will be rolling out team previews of high school teams all across the state and across all classifications, eventually launching our Preseason Power 25. 

We have been sending out our annual Preseason Questionnaire to coaches all across the state and as the responses flood in we will bring you a snapshot of what to expect along with top players and keys to success for that particular team. SEASON PREVIEW

Coach Ebner returns a solid pitching staff and a balanced lineup from a 28-win season and conference title a year ago. Junior left-hander Seth Bauerschlag will highlight a Zebra staff that returns three arms from last year. Not only is he ranked first in his class, but he is a gap hitter and can pick it at first base. A solid core of returners will anchor the defense, including speedy 2018 CF Jake Goodman, and 2019 OF Caleb Hill. 2018 SS Joe Hudson will lead the infield, alongside 2019 2B/RHP Kyle Filbert, and RHP/3B Colby Diduch. Look for 2020 C/RHP Jackson Duke to hold down the catching duties and provide some gap power in the middle of the order.
