Texas Junior Futures Game 2 & 3 Notes

LAKEPOINT - Texas JFG had to play two pool play games on Saturday as result of the weather delays on Friday at LakePoint. They needed to win both games against Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. 

RHP Jack Jorgenson started Game 2 and went 4.1 IP. Stranded the bases loaded in the 1st, and then had a smooth 2nd, 3rd, & 4th inning and struck out 7 batters. Repeatable delivery with natural deception. FB was up to 83 sitting 80-82 to both sides of the plate, CB 71-75, CH 71-72.
1B Brody Mattox had 4 RBI in the two games with 3 doubles, giving him 5 RBI and 4 doubles for the tournament.
LHP/OF Xavier Mitchell got the start in the 2nd game of the day and final pool play game. Long, lanky frame up to 81 getting swing and miss at top of the zone. CB 63-66 with true CB shape at times with the ability to land for strikes and get swing and miss. He also had two hits on the day with a double to LCF and a triple to RF.
IF Juan Diego Amescua had 3 hits on the day with a double and triple and an RBI.
OF/LHP Blaine Bullard closed out the 2nd game of the day going 3 IP allowing 1 R with 3 K. FB 76-78, lots of strikes with some arm-side run, CB 66-68, CH 70-71. Also had a couple knocks of the day including an RBI double in the 1st game.
