On Sunday December 11th, Prep Baseball Report and its staff converged on East View High School to workout a group of players from across Texas.  Each player was run through a full pro-style workout, with extended offensive, defensive, and bullpen sessions. The PBR staff was able to record stats and video on each player in attendance. PBR will continue to work to be the #1 news source for all of high school baseball across Texas.

Here is a look at two freshman from Hutto High School that had impressive performances.

+ Gage Boehm, 3B/RHP, Hutto HS, 2020
6-foot-2, 240-pound, strong, advanced frame with broad shoulders and well defined lower-half. The right-handed hitter starts from a tall stance with advanced rhythm. Smooth load and athletic leg-kick to get started, lands into an aggressive, advanced launch position to transfer through contact. Shows explosive bat speed with loose finish as the barrel stays through the zone. Hit several home runs during batting practice and registered an exit velocity of 93 mph. On the infield Boehm flashed soft hands and clean exchange into a strong throwing motion with carry at 75 mph.

On the mound, the right-hander works from a ¾ slot with quick arm stroke from back to front. Good hip mobility at leg lift into a short stride length that should lengthen out with future development. His fastball ranges from 81-82 mph and comes out of the hand well flashing arm-side run. The slider is a good pitch with 10-4 shape that flashes tight spin and depth at 68-70 mph. Shows the ability to maintain arm speed on his changeup which he throws 69-72 mph.

+ Luke Banister, C, Hutto HS, 2020
5-foot-9, 165-pound, strong frame with definition in lower half and shoulders. Behind the plate he has solid body control with quick, fluid footwork and a quick, clean exchange. Shows good arm strength for his class, registering 1.97-2.11 pop times and 74 mph velocity. The right-handed hitter starts from a tall stance with flex in his knees and good rhythm. Slow load to rock back with a slight toe-tap, lands into an athletic launch position with his hands back. Explodes on the ball at contact with a compact path and good weight-transfer and a loose finish of the barrel. Shows good presence and approach in the box, drove balls to the gaps and wall with backspin, exit velocity of 86 mph. Ran a 7.19 60-yard dash.
