Scouting Report

1.19.19
5-foot-10, 160-pounds. Walker improved his 60 time to 6.93 to start the day, then showed strength to the pull side gap with natural lift as he squared it up during BP. The right-handed hitter uses a leg lift load as he pushes back, triggers his hands, and takes a short stride forward, keeping forward tilt in his shoulders. Rotates his lower half as he launches the barrel through the zone with loose hands and a high finish. On the infield, he plays through the ball with aggressive footwork, smooth actions and fast hands. Cuts distance and creates good momentum on throws to first base. Quick exchange on double play feeds with touch and feel to the bag.

11.04.18
Walker 5-foot-9, 160-pounds. The right-handed hitter starts from a crouched stance then loads back with a reverse leg lift as he triggers his hands, slightly coiling his body to provide power as he rotates to contact. Loose hands work efficiently through the zone with some lift and top exit velocity of 86 mph. At shorstop, Walker has quick, flashy, aggressive footwork, fast exchange, and loose arm swing that works well from different slots. Throws with carry and top velocity of 84 mph across the diamond.

10.14.18
It is easy to like the way that Walker moves at shortstop, with smooth-flashy actions, quick footwork, fast hands, and quick exchange. At 5-foot-9, 160-pounds, Walker is an aggressive player, and it shows on the infield and at the plate. Plays through the ball with intent and tempo, and threw 84 across the diamond with a quick arm swing. Can play on the run and starts the double play with ease. Offensively, the right-handed hitter starts from an open, slighlty crouched stance with his shoulders tilted forward and rhythm in his hands. Leg kick load as his hands trigger down and back. Slots the barrel on plane with a short path, working on an upward plane, creating lift with strength at contact and a top exit velocity of 86 mph.
