Taking into consideration our winter events, the early high school tournament season, and the beginning of district play, we have updated the Texas 2019 rankings. Over the course of the last four months, the depth of the sophomore class has continued to strengthen.

Much has happened over the course of the six-plus months since the launch of PBR Texas, all of which is reflected in our comprehensive 2019 Texas Top 50.

Shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. (Colleyville Heritage HS) remains #1 in the ranking. The 6-foot, 165-pound Oklahoma recruit, has continued to impress this spring with his all-around, high-level tools. It is not often that we see a player at his age with all five tools, but Witt is already a household name among scouts in the area.

Remaining at #2 is right-handed pitcher Matthew Thompson (Cypress Ranch HS). The 6-foot-2, 175-pound Texas A&M recruit has a high ceiling with a quick, easy arm stroke, low-90's velocity and a wipe-out slider.

Two-way talent Sanson Faltine III (Ft. Bend Travis HS), remains at #3. The 6-foot-2, 170-pound, Texas recruit is an all-around athletic prospect. Faltine shows advanced actions on defense, projectable power from the right side, and a mid-to-upper 80's fastball.

Bumping up to the #4 spot in the ranking is Brett Baty (Lake Travis HS). Baty, a 6-foot-3 Texas recruit, is a projectable middle of the order left-handed hitter.

Jaden Woodson (Jesuit College Prep) moves up to the #5 spot. Woodson, a 6-foot-1, 175-pound Texas commit, is an all-around athlete with high upside and power from the right side.
