With a full slate of PBR Events under our belt from the summer and fall, we are happy to bring you the updated Texas 2020 class rankings. The ranking has expanded to 85 players with over 40 players entering the ranking for the first time. Not much has changed among the top 10, and three of the top ranked players remain uncommitted.

+ Holding on to the No. 1 Ranking is SS/RHP Tanner Witt (Episcopal HS). Still uncommitted, Witt has an athletic, projectable, long-limbed frame at 6-foot-4, 185-pounds. As a two-way standout, Witt helped lead Episcopal HS to an SPC State Championship this past spring. He has smooth footwork and quick actions on the infield with a fast exchange and ability to play on the run. On the mound, the right-hander works from a high-¾ slot with a clean arm stroke. His fastball usually sits 88-90 mph, but there is more velocity to come in the future. Also has a good feel for both a curveball at 73-75 mph, and a changeup at 78-79 mph.

+ 2020 SS/RHP Masyn Winn (Kingwood HS) is already a household name in the recruiting world. Our scouting staff has seen him on several occasions throughout last year’s high school season and over the summer. In October, the sophomore did not disappoint, mowing through hitters during his one inning of work. His fastball sat 90-91 mph with late life and gitty-up. His slider is a wipeout pitch 76-79 mph with tight rotation and sharp 11/5 depth. The right-hander also mixes in a 78-79 mph changeup with fastball arm speed. On the infield, Winn has athletic, smooth actions and threw 93 mph across the diamond. Winn not only has the tools that separate him as one of the top players in the country, but the sophomore is also a true competitor, and the way he plays puts him ahead of his peers.

+ Remaining at No. 3 is Catcher Drew Romo (The Woodlands HS). The 5-foot-11, 170-pound, LSU commit is an elite defender behind the plate with outstanding arm strength and true carry on throws to second base with sub-2.0 pop times. Last season, Romo started at shortstop for The Woodlands, showing his athleticism and versatility. At the plate, the switch-hitter has a balanced, athletic swing, and a great feel for hitting.

+ Coming in at No. 4 is another talented two-way player in SS/RHP Aaron Nixon (McCallen HS). Nixon is a polished shortstop with a powerful bat. The Texas commit, stands 6-feet, 190-pounds and can pitch in the low-90’s. Taking the No. 5 spot in our ranking is TCU commit, RHP/1B Cam Brown (Flower Mound HS). Brown stands 6-foot-2, 190-pounds with a strong pitchers frame. At the Area Code Games in August, Brown pitched 87-89 mph with a sharp mid-70’s curveball. Although he did not pitch this fall, Brown set himself apart as one of the top up-and-coming hitters in the Metroplex as he absolutely crushed the ball at the plate.
