On Sunday January 12th, the PB Texas staff traveled to DFW to host the Dallas Preseason ID, an open event for the class of 2025-2028.

Players made their way to San Marcos and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball Texas staff.

Today, we take a look at the scouting reports from each position player in attendance as well as rank the top 4 from the day.

TOP PITCHERS

Kellan McWhinnie RHP / 3B / Plano East, TX / 2027

Positional Profile: RHP/3B RHS with good build to add strength. Solid delivery and arm action, will continue to add arm speed. Fastball will be quality pitch, showing life now. Shows ability to spin baseball, must firm release point for success. Change is a good pitch now, Will continue to develop. Will be fun arm to watch as he matures.
Body: 6-1, 206-pounds. Good physical build to add strength in future. Moves well on the mound.
Delivery: Side step delivery. Does a nice job of using lower half, lands with online stride. Good finish.
Arm Action: RH. Full circle, showing solid arm speed that will continue to develop. Arm works well.
FB: T85, 82-85 mph. Effective fastball down in zone. Shows arm side tail, sink. Fastball will continue to develop with added strength. T1869, 1796 average rpm.
CB: 71-76 mph. Developing feel for curve ball. Flashes solid action at times. Must firm release point. T1961, 1821 average rpm.
CH: 75-77 mph. Change has quality action with developing deception. Spiked circle change grip. Tail, tail/sink maintains good arm speed, chance to be plus pitch in future. T941, 852 average rpm.
CUT: 76-78 mph.
