We have already released a Statistical Analysis from the event, that highlights the top measurable data performers from the event. Today, we will highlight the top players that stood out to our staff over the course of the event.

QUICK HITS

OF/ RHP Owen Kuhl (Boerne Champion, 2027)  is a sophomore with notable physicality, and a frame that projects for more. He’s already been clocked at 91 mph from the outfield, showcasing a plus arm, and his max exit velocity of 97.1 mph at the plate highlights impressive bat speed. Barrel stays in the zone for a long time. On the mound, Owen sits in the mid-80s with room to jump as he refines his mechanics. His combination of power at the plate and a strong throwing arm points to a bright future, particularly as a power-hitting right fielder.

INF/RHP Andrew Alvarado (Victoria East, 2027) showed well in San Antonio, demonstrating his potential on both sides of the ball. Defensively, he has good actions at shortstop and a solid arm (throwing 84 mph across the infield), both being good enough to stick at short. Foot speed will ultimately determine if he sticks there long term. Offensively, Andrew’s tight swing and strong direction at the plate produced multiple barrels, highlighted by a 94.2 mph max exit velocity. He also impressed on the mound, running his fastball up to 87.2 mph with more in the tank, flashing two distinct breaking balls, and a solid changeup as a fourth offering. Part of a talented Victoria East program, Andrew is a promising young prospect to keep an eye on.

INF/OF/RHP Samuel Molina (2027, Cornerstone Christian)  is an intriguing sophomore prospect who shows promise both offensively and defensively. A switch-hitter with a line-drive approach, he stays in the big part of the field, currently displaying more power from the right side. Defensively, he has the versatility to play both infield and outfield, with an 88 mph arm from the outfield and 85 mph across the infield. On the mound, he’s been up to 79 mph, featuring a long, clean arm swing that hints at further upside. With his array of tools, Samuel’s continued physical development will be key to unlocking his full potential.

INF/RHP Mateo Rodriguez (2028, Cornerstone Christian) is a talented freshman who displayed real arm strength and intriguing pitch metrics on Saturday. Working from a low-effort, low-slot delivery (4’5” release height), his fastball sat 80–82 mph and featured over 18 inches of induced vertical break. He also mixed in a 71–74 mph slider that flashed average, showing he can spin the ball well. As Mateo continues to mature and add strength, his velocity and secondary offerings should only improve, making him a high-ceiling arm to keep an eye on.

RHP Davis Zunker (2026, Alamo Heights) is a broad-shouldered right-hander, Standing at 6’1’’ and 192 pounds, whose fastball already sits 84–86 mph, with room for more velocity as the spring progresses. He works downhill effectively, creating good angles and mixing an over-the-top curveball in the low 70s with a tighter, firmer slider at 75–77. Davis’s projectable frame and feel for multiple pitches make him an exciting young arm to watch.

RHP Hunter Lauinger (2026, Clemens) is an imposing 6’7” and 220 pounds, presenting a high-upside profile on the mound. His fastball currently sits in the low 80s, but with his frame and improving coordination, more velocity is likely on the way. He already shows impressive metrics on the fastball, including over 19 inches of induced vertical break and a spin rate above 2400 rpm. Lauinger also mixes in a low 70s breaking ball, which should improve as he adds power to the pitch. With his size, athleticism, and projection, Hunter’s best days are certainly ahead of him.
